Re: Went tackle shopping at the ZOO.

April 22nd and 23rd is their spring show. Gary Dobyns himself will be there. It's a 3 hr drive, but I'll be there. My dad and I stopped one day during a Perch trip to St Joe last fall cause we got rained out. That is an awesome shop and I can't wait to go back! Thanks for the info! I'll be in St. J...

Re: wacky rig tool

Great tool.

I also put an o-ring on the nose of my flukes or Case SSS/SSM's. It keeps the hook from tearing off the fluke's head, and allows me to fish the same fluke all day.

Went tackle shopping at the ZOO.

I took the day off, so I could drop my wife off at the Kalamazoo airport. The luck girl is going to Florida, for the week, to chill with her best friend (without myself or the kids). I guess I'm trying to earn extra bonus points before we get back our tax return. Right after kissing my wife good bye...

Re: 2011/12 Daiwa wish list

I'd be happy if they just made the purple Alphas 103 a USDM reel. :big grin: Amen, but they dropped that one too. Daiwa Marketing and Engineering leave me scratching my head. An Aluminum based Steez @ a $250 -$270 price point would be nice....or perhaps a CI4 based 8 bearing Strikeforce @ $199. :lo...

Re: lipless cranks

Floating Rattletraps are awesome! :D You only need to buy two colors - crawfish and crome. I fish these in shallow water or in and around weed beds. They only go down 1 - 3 ft. You can fish them slow or fast. They make better rattling sound than the standard sinking models. I still remember Gary Kli...

Re: Wave Tiki Stick vs. Yamamoto Senko

Out of the two choices, it would be Yamamoto - no reason. I prefer Case Magic Stiks, Jacks Worm, SSS, & SSM. They sink just as fast as Yamamoto baits, but are more durable and cheaper. When you order from Case, they give you several samples of there other soft plastic products. I am not affiliated w...

The Great Lakes should be ranked #1 for fresh water. The weather can turn on you very quickly. You can never keep your guard down. If your 10+ miles out it could take you hours to get back to port - depending on the direction of the wind and the size of your boat. I've been out on Lake Ontario and L...

Re: Free Giveaway Contest - Keitech Japan Premium Jigs &

139 please. I've had great results with Luck Craft DD & SP 65/78 Pointers on my local rivers. I'm catching smallmouth, walleye, rainbow trout, brown trout, & steelhead on the Pointers. The steelhead are a little too strong for the stock hooks. Megabass - Only own 2 Vision 95's and one Griffon Zero. ...

Re: BEST LINE FOR A PIXY

I'm currently using 6 lb Yozuri Xtex w/ a 12' leader of 6 lb Maxima fluorocarbon or 8 lb Gamma Copolymer. I like the $3 price and the color of the Xtex. It's close in color to PLine Halo - makes it easy to watch the line while tube and senko fishing for smallies. I haven't broken any bass off yet - ...

Re: Pixy Owners-Need a little help??

BTW - Have you had a chance to throw light t-rigs and finesse jigs with this outfit? Mike[/quote] Mike - Last night I fished a 3" grub on a 1/8 oz jighead & a 4" Senko. The 701C has plenty of backbone, with the extra/fast action, to set the hook on t-rigs. That's exactly what I bought it for. It's a...

Re: Pixy Owners-Need a little help??

Long time TT viewer / first time TT poster. Everyone on this forum is great. Thanks for all the great information. Love reading the bearing articals. I work for a custom bearing company (we don't make little bearings for reels, but I've got a GmbH source). I just broke in my new pixy set-up, last we...
