Re: Review of “Ester” mono line.

Thanks for the tip. I hadn't heard of this line option.

Re: 2018 Curado DC (Merged Topic)

I just saw a spool weight figure for this reel for the first time, and it's a shocker: 20.6 grams! If that is accurate, it would suggest that many other reels might be able to outcast this with lures weighing less than 3/8 oz. (I wrote "suggest" because I recognize that there are other factors than ...

Re: Will you be willing to wear this hat when fishing?

If the hat includes a cape, I don't also want a wide 360 degree brim that traps rising body heat.

One or the other, not both.

Great idea! Lots of people probably aren't very good at estimating the length of things.

Re: Edge inshore 6'6" light

I am almost positive that the last leg (the postal carrier) is where the rods get broken. I will no longer have a rod of 7 feet or more delivered on that last leg by the post office. The shipping tube for a rod that length will not fit in the truck that delivers to my neighborhood. Instead of leavi...

Re: Good Small to Micro Cranks

I still have one of the Norman Baby Deep Little N... they are awesome little baits, but need smaller hooks for the fish I am after. Actually, I don't know if I did it or not, but the ones I own have seemingly WAY to big of hooks. They probably came with the big trebles. After Rick Clunn won a tourn...

....ummm...so you went fishing with your buddy, you imploded, you dosed off, you concluded that you'd "had a good time alone." :-k

Maybe fewer "doses" before posting?

Re: Ever pull one out of retirement ?

I see what you meant now, and agree that sales of high-end spinning reels will probably decline--especially since finesse baitcasters can now be bought with high gear ratios. To return to the original poster's inquiry: This spring, I hope to reactivate a near-new Mitchell 308 on which I cut half the...

Re: Ever pull one out of retirement ?

This is just my hunch... feel free to refute. I think as far as the US/North American market goes, the sun has set on spinning reels. Hard core bass guys ignore them for the most part, and hardcore fishermen overall are but a tiny percentage tackle sales.... I agree that hardcore fishermen are a ti...

Re: Daiwa T3 value

Can't help you fix a price, but I can say something nicer about the reel than the last guy.

I have two. I like how a T3 feels and especially enjoy how easy it is to start a buzzbait purring back on touchdown by closing the hood of the T3 and lifting.
