Re: NRX 901 SJR Special Run

That makes sense they’d have bigger guides. I’d also be looking to use this rod to fish the SoCal surf so the larger guides won’t bother me. Although I’ve not hit the surf to fish in years, just an excuse to justify another nice toy. 😉

Re: NRX 901 SJR Special Run

Anyone here have any experience or thoughts on the new NRX 901 SJR Special Run vs an NRX 921S MR? I'm questioning whether the reel seat on the 921S Inshore series wouldn't be more sensitive than the one on the Jig/Worm series rods? On the 901 and 902 I always had the heel of my hand on the fore gri...

Re: Megabass rods

I've only broken one Megabass out of about the twenty or so I've had and still currently have. It was an older generation Destroyer F1-60X, I still have it. It's now used to spool reels so all was not lost. ;) Nice. Spooling in style 8-) Ha! Isn't that just the way we all roll? :big grin:

^^^^U gotta pay to play! ^^^ I guess so. I'm glad you guys can and do buy this stuff, and post about it. Otherwise I would never even hear about it. You got me all wrong! It killed me to pay $500 for a Steez CT. I like to read about this uber-expensive gear just like you lol! And it killed me...

Re: Sunline's Best Selling Fluorocarbon In Our Sights : Sniper

Cal, in the Performance section, is this supposed to say 10 and 12 "pound" test Sniper and for spinning...? Otherwise, what is meant by point?

"For casting, I used mostly 10 and 12 point test Sniper and for spinning anywhere between 5 to 8."

I'm just sick of the anodized red on Daiwa and Shimano reels...
Probably a good thing I'm photo sharing challenged here on TT, you'd puke seeing all the red parts on my Daiwas! :big grin:

Re: Enthusiast/JDM rod for moving baits

The Megabass Valkyrie 71MH is an excellent choice for moving baits in that size range. I've used mine for spinner baits, vibrating jigs, big square bills, larger top water treble baits, buzz baits, etc. It's definitely enthusiast level stuff. I have 3 Valkyries, except for the one Gary mentions and...

Never thought I would be in this neck of the woods. :D As a die hard Daiwa fan, all I can say.... is that this reel is sick!

My crappy pictures do no justice.

Re: Rods/reels you regret not buying

A few things I've been thinking about lately regarding this subject. I used to regret not picking up a Calcutta/Conquest 50DC while they were more readily available, that is up until the advent of the Conquest BFS. While not the same reels, I feel the CNQ BFS more than fills the niche from the 50DC ...
