Re: ICAST 2019

This is one bad dude. Sorry for the crappy pics , I didn't take my camera , just my phone. IMG_5931.jpg IMG_5932.JPG IMG_5933.JPG IMG_5934.JPG IMG_5936.JPG Dumb question: Is the coastal on the new steez ct frame with a different side plate or is the picture just kind of ‘squeezed? Re: 2019 Daiwa Admira Baitcaster

No mention of any type of mag braking though. If it's CT spool + sideplate compatible... You never know on those transitioned jiggin reels. Daiwa probobly went to as few lengths as possible to modify that reel. Meaning, they probobly just took out the interals on the sideplate. You might be able to...

Re: Wacky hook size for 5" Senko?

Haven't fished a senko wacky rigged since I first started using them 15+ years ago and we just used regular ewg worm hooks back then. Now every technique has a fancy hook. What size are you all using for your wacky rigged 5" senkos? 1/0 seems about right? (see picture)..Here is another option for y...

At 135 grams, I don't think it has magnets. I think it is a jigging reel, like the Daiwa Kohga TW. It goes to show you that Daiwa is not going to be shy to use this platform for future reels.

Nice find Polkfish!

Re: Ned head shattered my Expride...

If it makes you feel better..I've bore the brunt of bad fishing juju. Fishing out of my flats boat, alone, I managed to get a big Zara Spook stuck in a mangrove, instead of taking the easy route and just going to retrieve it, I did the dummy and yanked the bejusus out of it. Sure enough it dislodged...

Re: Ned head shattered my Expride...

Was bank fishing tonight and got a 1/6oz mushroom head stuck in a nearby tree. I tried to gently rip it free a few times and that didn't work, so I grabbed the rod a bit further up and gave it one good rip. The head came free and, as chance would have it, flew right back at the rod, hit the blank, ...

Kahen Style... rsz_oj.jpg rsz_shabang (1).jpg After a long (fishless) vacation, I arrive home to a bevy of goodies. Good news is, the KTF 30mm spool for Alphas/Millionare works amazing in the Steez CT SV and might be the preffered choice if your planning on swinging middle weight lures. (5-12 grams)...

Re: Need new casting reel within a month, what to do?

What do I do? Just buy another SLX and wait to see what ICAST holds? Considering I probably won't get any newly announced reels in time, I might as well buy a reel now and get some use out of it right? I just want something new and shiny and another SLX isn't any fun! But the SLX MGL is JDM only, t...

Re: Evergreen Rapid Gunner RSR

Anyone have one of these and willing to offer a detailed review? Appears to have almost the identical specs as the Super Stallion but is XH rated instead of MH? If your looking at an upper end Evergreen and are dedicated to spending that kind of bank, it would do you well to read the in-depth nuanc...

Re: 8ft. Rod for Fishing Flairhawks and Swimtails up to 4 oz.

I'm not opposed to the 2 piece. I have a 3 popping rods: Yamaga Blanks, Black Hole and Ghost Hunter that are all 2 piece 70/30 with upper joining at the handle. It's a nice and strong connection unlike the 50/50 split of the past. Nice..I've been looking at a Yamaga 7'3 TZ Nano to pair with my 2510...

Re: 8ft. Rod for Fishing Flairhawks and Swimtails up to 4 oz.

Ok that's better. I was using Safari, not Chrome. That Tulala Monstruo 710 is nice and within my budget. I also like the Horizonte 80, though it seems a tad lighter. The Horizonte 83 seems very heavy (up to 10oz. baits). I'm not crazy about the spiral wrap though... and I'm trying to determine if t...
