Re: Tackle Tour LIVE

It was super windy when I went out Sunday, and I can say that both the NRC001-M (and presumably PG) and Daiwa SV Light spools are both incredible for casting into headwinds and crosswinds and skipping. Like blow your mind that it works at all, not to mention the distance you get incredible. I secon...

Re: Fragment factory

Has anybody come across this Japanese rod maker? They look like some bad mfing rods. Being that this is TT, anybody handle one of these bad boys? If so, I’d love to hear any thoughts or insights about what these are like. Dom will chime in eventu...

Re: Daiwa Morethan PE Baitcaster...any other spools that fit?

If my memory serves me correctly the Morethan TW SV spool is 34MM in Diameter, but wider that the normal 34MM Steez type variants. I believe it is the same width as the 1500 Zillion TW 36MM spool. If you look where the spool fits into the frame on both sides you should see a line around the frame wh...

Re: 2019 Conquest DC Reviews?

I still find it amazing this reel is so rare in the USA. They are really not flying off the shelves in Japan. Of the many shops that I keep an eye on, they have moved pretty slow. There is a Rank A one on YJP with starting bid of $300, will be interesting to see what price it resells. They really n...

Re: Sunline Stuter

That someone was me. The TW reviews weren't exactly glowing, either. I'll pass. I think I'm just going to go back to 832 and pretend no other superline exists. I don't know what I'm going to do now. I used to use one of the other JDM, Varivas. They don't make it anymore, to my knowledge. Hard to fi...

Re: Fishing in Washington DC

I will be attending a conference in your fine capital in early October. I hope to find a few hours to fish the Potomac / Tidal basin. Most likely from shore. Being from North Europe, my knowledge on lures/patterns for early fall fishing in DC is quite low. I read that bass are quite aggresive durin...

Re: Seditions and some others.

Sedition Conflict. Think MB Launcher with an attitude...No idea if the substance of these rods keep up with the style. But it does make me want buy one and strap it up with the red Daiwa Battler fitted with the purple HLC Spool and maybe some other purple touches.

Re: JDM Rod for Finesse Jigs

Checking all those boxes was nearly impossible. But my friend, I found it..(kind of..) JDM-Check (actually made in Japan) 7'1 to 7'3- Check (7'1) Full Grip-Check (full cork) Once Piece-Check (not even grip joint) Lure Rating 1/8 to 3/4 oz As a bonus: titanium guides Upon release in 2013 this was one...

I dont think that anyone has mentioned the Carrozzeria Honeycomb Spool for Monoblock. Retailing at over 30k yen, it's the most expensive spool in it's class that I have found. I've yet to figure out why it's priced 12k yen over the other MB Honeycomb spools. It does wiegh in at 8 grams, which is lig...

LOL- same here! I ordered two spools of Castaway for this fall. Expectations are high for some epic stories like this. 😃
 Hope I didn't oversell this stuff. With that said, I ordered a spool for my Steez A (which is going full SW) and my Daiwa Certate 4000. All in!

Re: Help with my Sol

Since I last posted here I've acquired a zonda honeycomb spool, thanks Winstondry, and IMO it is made for use with ML-M rods, 1/8-5/8oz or more, 8-14# or 20-40# braid. It is awesome for spinnerbaits, keitechs, and other typical bass baits that aren't particularly aerodynamic. I haven't tried skippi...
