Re: Finesse spinning gear set up
I have several spinning outfits and enjoy them a lot. The stradic 2500 and a medium to ml rod in the 6'10 to 7' range will cover a lot of applications that a spinning rod is a good choice for.

Re: Casting Rods... What will you spend?
I have spent up to $700 on a rod a few times. I buy what I think I need. Not necessarily what I can get by with. Fishing to me is about enjoyment and I get more enjoyment out of top of the line gear. If I don't catch any fish I can't blame my gear!

Another on the 3.8 Keitechs if I am trimming the skirt for a more compact bait, otherwise a 4.8

Re: best all around rod for spinnerbaits, chatter baits and jigs
The MBR GLX 843 is the best spinner bait rod I have used. I have 2, 1 old model that is probably 15 years old and the new "16 version. I primarily fish my older version the most.

Re: Megabass Vision 110 - Best Color?
Wish I had a favoite color. But I have just started Jerk bait fishing and still have a lot to learn before I get to a favorite color stage. I will be throwing HT Ito Wakasagi, Megabass Sexy Shad a lot this season. I have several other colors, but I have to start some where.

Re: best rod for ...
I can skim a 1/2oz or 3/8oz Keitech Model 1 very well on my NRX 853C. 15lb InvizX. You should give the Model 3 Swim Jig /4.8 FAT a try. Holy Hell! You might just skip it accidentally. I can put that bait anywhere. ZLN100HL-TWS/TAT721MHRB-G/40# J-Braid The Model 3 is one of my favorite swi...

Re: best rod for ...
I'm going to try skipping docks this season also. A first for me. I'm going to start with a G Loomis GLX MBR 843 or the 844 as that is what I have. Reel will be a Daiwa Steez svtw 7.1 / 1

Re: Sunline Defier Armilo vs Sufix Advance?
I am a fan of the Sunline brand. I didn't even realize it until just recently when I started looking at the lines I primarily ended up with on my reels. For mono use I really like the Armilo for most mono applications where I need a line that floats or is a little stiffer than normal mono. I really ...

Re: Jig Rod Recomendation
What is your budget? A lot will depend on it. I do not do a lot of jig work, but I have been doing a lot of reading to see what rod I would be best served with. On the high end I have narrowed it down to the Megabass FMJ or the NRX 894 or 895. On the more reserved side the Dobyn's Champion 735 witch...

Re: G-Loomis IMX Pro 852c JWR
I don't mind a little flex in my tip. Having said that I think 3/8 would be the upper end.
I have not thrown a 3/8 jig plus trailer. Not what I got it for.

Re: G-Loomis IMX Pro 852c JWR
I have one and use it for shakey heads, weightless senko's up to 5 inches and going to try it for vision 110 size jerk baits. Sensitivity is real close to the older glx series than the imx .

Re: Gear ratio: 8 VS 7?
I stay with 7 ratio reels mainly. But have purchase a couple of 8 ratio reels lately. Mostly because of the longer handle that they have come with, and thinking I could just get another set of gears if I don't like there higher speed.
