Protecting reels from scratches

Is there anything made to put on the body of a reel to protect it from scratches? Makes me sick to get scratches on a new reel but fishing the local rivers which are all rock it is impossible not to set the reel down on it for re baiting. Recently made the mistake of setting my rod down while trying...

Re: Getting into BFS

I use a Tat CT with $40 DIY spool loaded with 6# fireline ultra 8 and throw 1/8 oz all day long for trout with ease. Prefer this over a Calcutta Conquest BFS HG I had and sold. Paired with the Teton 662 its a great trout set up.

A clicker that is audible when a fish is taking line can be made for nearly any reel by Oleg Semchenko- Great guy that I have ordered many kits from. Easy to install and cost is about $30.

Re: New Tatula Elite Reel

Daiwa tech called me today and said reel is fine and similar to the rest but does not make the noise while testing with a "load" . I only gave it a whirl with line and not with anything actually on the line. Guess I should not be comparing it to the much more refined reels either. Getting picky thes...

Re: New Tatula Elite Reel

Sent it back so no video. I have numerous reels including, bantam mgl, chronarch mgl, morethan, tat ct, tat sv and they are all super smooth with no rattle or noise to speak of. I do probably reel much faster than bass guys since i use my reels in river for salmon/steelhead. Throw either a spoon or ...

Re: Fuego CT for finesse?

My Tat Ct with a DIY spool is a light weight casting machine so I would assume the fuego would be the same.

Re: Loose drive shaft on Tatula

The new Elite arrived and has a very pronounced rattle. Anyone try changing out the bearing under the drive shaft?

Re: New Tatula Elite Reel

The new Tat Elite arrived today- Spooled it up with 30# Sufix 832. Feels great, casts great and very smooth. Had to tighten down the factory spool tension but casting 1/2 oz set on 8 produces zero backlash and about 40 yards of distance with ease. Still has the rattle that I have experienced with a...

I just ordered the 30lb for one of my metaniums. I wanted the powerpro super slick v2 but they were sold out of my size/color preference. Figured I’d give the Sunline a try since I love their other lines. Will try to report back in a month or so.
Any updates on the Xplasma?

Re: New Tatula Elite Reel

Ordering the drag kit for new Elite as I wait its arrival. Has anyone opened up the Elite that can provide main gear measurements? Bryan at The Tackle Trap super tuned one that went out yesterday. I'll ask him if he took measurements. The Zillion TWS Carbontex stack fits in the Tatula Elite line up...
