Re: Zero Gravity jigs

I have two of them, but have fished them very little and have caught a grand total on one bass on them; http://i.imgur.com/NO8n455m.jpg I was using a MH/F Fenwick Smallmouth Elite with 12lb YZH. The hookset was fine, but she really choked it so I didn't have to do much. I will try to remember tonigh...

Re: Who is using BFS casting gear for trout/panfish

Nice! It seems like it is owned by the guy who runs tenkarabum.com. By all accounts he is a stand up guy and great to deal with. Really looking forward to seeing what he has to offer.

Re: Tackle addict vs fisherman?

LOL. I love this. Words to live by. I have sold so many firearms the last few years. It is laughable, how much more enjoyment I get from fishing vs. shooting. Pulling that gun out of the safe to sell it did get me missing shooting a little, but I live in such a built up area that it is a long long ...

Re: 2017 JDM Shimano Reel Speculation

Any idea/speculation on the lure range the stock Conquest BFS will be able to throw?

Already dreaming of rods :D

Re: 2017 JDM Shimano Reel Speculation

Got so hyped for that CC BFS, after I initally settled for: "nah, I wont be needing another BFS reel"   Im definitely getting one!!! Me too. I have never pre-ordered anything before in my life, but I am going to be refreshing JapanTackle every day until they start taking orders.

Re: 2016 Zillion SV TWS

My XXH arrived today and I think I am in love. I have an SV105 so I sort of knew what to expect from the spool, but the TWS is really impressing me. I have been working crazy hours for the last few weeks and to stay sane I have been practicing pitching down a hallway in my house. I am still not grea...

What to do with an Alphas 150h?

Hi, A combo of late night online shopping, the poor quality of Google translation, and admittedly some beers have resulted in me being the owner of a used Alphas 150h. I maybe thought I was buying a Alphas 105h, which for the $50 asking price, was too good to think too long about. In any case,...

Re: Tackle addict vs fisherman?

I have only been fishing for about 3-4 years now and only "seriously" for bass for about one year, though I did managed to get out easily 3-5 days a week for most of last season. I fish from the bank or kayak, so all of my combos are in constant risk of either going overboard, getting tossed in the ...

Re: What is your finesse casting rod?

Yea, I could not justify the shipping for a single rod and honestly want to see how the Teton I ordered works out for me. I suspect I will end up going custom if I end up wanting a nicer BFS rod in any case.

Re: What is your finesse casting rod?

the STC-63UL is certainly an ultra light rated BFS rod that is capable of casting 2 grams very well. Well now I really want one, I don't ever really mess with spinners below 1/16oz/ Also, I had looked at bass.co.jp before, but never found the rods. In fact, I just received a reel that I ordered fro...

Re: What is your finesse casting rod?

I would be cautious fishing a Teton, any UL-L trout rod, or Ajing rod from a kayak. It will be difficult to land fish from kayak without snapping rod. The Teton 662L snaps much easier than the UL ones though so maybe the 6ft UL Trout would be something worth trying as test for $50. Honestly if you ...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

Ah, got you. Hopefully I will never have to remove it again, I am pretty happy with the Air BFS bearing and can't see a reason to change it. Hell, I hope to not have to remove it from the reel very often, the thing is so light and thin that I fear even a fall of a few inches to my workbench could da...

Re: Daiwa SV103 vs Zillion SV TW

Why would you go with the slower gearing, more power?

I am intrigued with the 9.1 as most of my other reels are in the 6.X range and I want to see what a really fast reel is like. I also kinda like the green :D

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

I noticed this as well, the spool pin is actually tapered. The only thing that really holds it in place is the textured part of the pin. Could be an issue in the long run if the pin gets loose over time, and comes out when the reel is disengaged. I don't know enough about the inner workings of the ...

Re: Anyone tried DIY spools? $29-$40 BFS spools!

I picked one of these up for my PX68 and the reel will now cast lower weights than my rod will load without a lot of force. With a lot of force it will throw a true 1/8oz lure as far as the combo used to be able to throw a 1/4oz one, which was it's old comfortable lower limi. I do worry about the du...
