Re: How much line to put on bfs reel?

I guess I do? My Zillion HLC spool holds 110 yards of 14# mono and I spool it of 65# braid on almost every cast of a frog. There is a bunch of slack line I wind in after the cast to get the line taunt but it spits out that much on a cast Hey LowRange, is the Zillion HLC a BFS reel? I'm not familiar...

Re: WisconsinHeat looking for Rec's on a BFS Reel

Depending on what he wants to cast the Roro may not hold enough line. I can very quickly spool all the 10# nanofill off my BM3 BFS and it is a wide 34mm spool with an 1/8oz inline spinner.

Re: WisconsinHeat looking for Rec's on a BFS Reel

That would depend on how light weight you want to cast. This is to determine what type of spool and reel you may need.

Re: BFS Rods

I want actual BFS rods and not trout rods. Something like the Volkey 68L and 65UL in one piece for $150 for the UDM market with warranty. Rigid M rod like power back halves of the rods for hook setting and controlling big fish with L and UL front halfs of the rods to cast small baits. Trout noodles ...

Re: How much line to put on bfs reel?

Hands up if anyone has used 100m of line on a fish in Freshwater? I split my 125yard spools into two line shots and sometimes 3 for the sake of that amount being the top shot only. We've got skinny creeks and regardless of normal casting or BFS that working portion is used and turned over in time. ...

Re: Morethan 1000xh - Coffee Grinder

Ouch. I have never had a reel engage on the cast that wasn't the result of a flipping switch being left on. I can only imagine what that does to the pinon.

Re: Designo leben and vantage

Do you cast while palming your reel or do you adjust your hand to palm after casting? With this style you are constantly palming it and just sliding your thumb. Its much more ergonomical and efficient imo. That fact you palm it the whole time makes it awkward to overhand cast. I cast and pitch "nor...

Re: Designo leben and vantage

The Slangs are big bait sticks. Designo makes fantastic rods. Subtle builds and crisp blanks. Unlimited rods are built with Designo blanks as were Evergreens for awhile. https://i.postimg.cc/d1DG0Xvx/20190406_113931.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/gkYYYSjZ/20190609-064014.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/5ymbBv7y...

Re: Which BFS reel?

I wouldn't think the SV LTD LIGHT would have enough capacity for 1/8 oz head and a small plastic if you are going for distance. I can almost spool my Airy Red spool of 20# braid with a 1/10 oz head a TRD. Honestly I would just use the Pixy you have or if you want to skip baits then get an Alphas CT ...

Re: Round Reel Refinement - The JDM Daiwa Millionaire CT SV70

Every once in a while I go to TW website, open up the Shimano casting reels, and just drool over the 50. At 7.5 oz, I could easily fish it all day. It looks like a finely engineered machine. My birthday's coming up in August (hint, hint). You need a Monoblock in you life. My Racing Milano is under ...

Re: Magforce-Z induction activation revolutions?

The Pixy video seems really consistent with what I see and hear from my Pixies. Its the 1st video that shows the inductor briefly extend at 7000 rpm that seems off. That is how I imagine my HLC spool to behave. No breaking unless you casting it hard and get some serious RPM out of it. Is that a regu...
