Re: ZOOM!

Trickworms, Swamp Crawlers, Super Flukes, 6"/4" Lizards, I use a lot of Zoom. Trickworms are by far my favorite though, I am on a never ending quest to find the ideal rod/reel/line combo to fish them weightless in emerging pads. I don't know if it exists but I am going to keep trying new tackle unt...

Re: Frogging reel suggestions

Huge fan of my IP with HLC spool for frogs on a gen 1 Orochi PP. Just pop the stock spool in for bottom contact and you are good to go. Two rigs in one.

Re: ZPI Reel?

Here you go $100 on Aliexppress for the same reel. Spool even looks to be the same. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000499013931.html?spm=2114.best.8.83.292bjetcjetcNQ&scm=1007.17258.167931.0&pvid=d2cabf05-dc0a-49e6-b647-a0aa56e4e997 Actually says it in the description... Re: ZPI Reel?

It's not a Doyo or other Korean OEM reel. It's even worse in that it is some Chinesisum thing from Aliexpress.

Re: Kayak on Subaru Outback?

I've been hauling mine for years on the roof of an 03 Forester. I use the Yakima Boat Loader which I highly recommend for solo loading. I had an 06 Forester and beat the hell out of the top of the liftgate loading the kayak from the rear. The boat loader is a telescopic solid stainless shaft with a ...

Re: WisconsinHeat looking for Rec's on a BFS Reel

What 1/16 oz baits do you want to throw? Inline spinners for trout, rooster tails. The package says 1/16 oz but I guess I do that know that true weight . I would be worried about line capacity for 1/8 jig heads and a small plastic with any DIY spools except the Tatula Long Cast but if you don't mak...

I'm running the airy red Pixzilla and pixy type R with the I'ze factory finesse spool and can get down to 2gr comfortably. With the Ray's Diy spool and modified inductor 1-1.2gr with ease.
Modified inductor?

Re: BFS Rods

I might be wrong, but there is bfs trout rods and bfs bass/perch rods. Both are needed. And both can be used, in varying success, for other species bfs fishing. You are correct but there does seem to be a lack of BFS rods in the USDM rod market. You can probably find a few UL or L casting rods that...

Re: Megabass Custom FX68 Spool (Purple)

The 1010 spools are supposed to be good distance casters but don't hold much line to cast for distance. I can spool the two I have pretty easily by just casting jigs and plastics. I'm thinking about using them with 30# braid to have more capacity. The one I get the most use out of is in a Lin 10 Bla...

Re: WisconsinHeat looking for Rec's on a BFS Reel

Thanks for all of the replies, as far as lures I plan to throw, I will be using a lot of lures in the 2-4 gram range, I don't plan on attempting to cast tiny "trout magnet" style jigs/lures with it. Mostly very small hardbaits, 1/16th and some 1/8 oz inline spinners, etc. How much line does the ror...

Re: How much line to put on bfs reel?

I'm guessing a frog isn't BFS realm. Also this casting is dictated by weight - what's a frog weigh? I thought you were speaking about line capacity in freshwater in general. More specifically how line cap over 100m/110yd is not needed due the inability of freshwater species to make a run and peel o...
