Re: Abu Garcia Volatile ML casting rod?

It's worth a shot I guess for $100. You can easily spend that much in shipping to import a BFS rod from Japan. I've got my hands on the big musky variants and they're a nicely put together rod for the money. BPS has a 6'6'' ML Carbon Lite rated from 1/16 to 1/2 at the same price point with a more re...

Re: New Topwater Rod

Very nice. I've always wondered about the Deps rods. A Deps Zillion would look pretty nice on it.

Re: Steez Limited SV 105XH

Hey I just bought one of these. Don't have it but I imagine it is similar to my SS SV but a lot less terrible.

Re: Show off your BFS Casting Reels

Lol thanks for the kind words all. The deck is being allowed to weather off its stain so I can get back seeing wood again. Once the years or red stain are off I'm switching to sealing instead of staining. Pics of my SS SV and Volkey BFS to come once the SLP works stage II kit gets here.

Re: Daiwa Interline Rod

Interesting. I remember these rods as being branded as Cabelas rods at one time. I didn't realize they were Daiwas.

Re: Show off your BFS Casting Reels

More of the Rosso. I've been trying to capture the color changing of the reel as it shifts from a violet red to an orange red under different light condition. It's a very pretty reel. https://s13.postimg.org/eu2cs88xz/IMG_1135.jpg https://s18.postimg.org/xsei1y7g9/IMG_1132.jpg https://s13.postimg.or...

Re: Bass Pro has purchased Cabela's...

I have a Flatsided Pork Chop with the prefect hunting action (super stable, wide veering and random left/right) that I really like. I only have the one and often wondered if they all hunt like that or if I got one of those desirable one in a million baits. May have to buy a few more before they go a...

Re: Shimano Aldebaran vs Daiwa SV105. Which is better?

Oh and the SS SV is kind of a piece of junk. I've got one and it is very hallow and stock spool while very controlable seems to have very strong breaking profile that really chokes off distance. the reel is smooth but emits all sorts of clunks and bangs that aluminum bodied reels deaden out. I use m...

Re: Shimano Aldebaran vs Daiwa SV105. Which is better?

If I wanted distance I'd go Aldebaran and if I wanted to skip thumb free like a mad man I'd go Alphas SV. I went Alphas SV because of this vid and haven't looked back.

Re: What kind of rod am i looking for?

Wow yeah, that Megatop does load up oddly. Having had some time to research and digest various factors about rods, lure weight, and presentation, I've figured more precisely what I'm looking for. With your help of course. Good distance and accuracy with 7.5g - 14g, 1/8+plastic T-rigs to weightless S...

Re: Steez Limited SV

Yup that's the place. I've learned to act quickly when something of interest pop up. There's a sharp looking lefty IS up from grabs for those interested. The Steez SV Limited should cast similarly to an Alphas SV, correct? I do love my Alphas SV.

Steez Limited SV

I just bought a Steez Limited SV 105XH in very good used condition for $375. I've never owned a Steez but do have an SS SV and am wondering what to do with it. Maybe pair it to a Cronos with solid carbon tip?

Re: What kind of rod am i looking for?

If I were to use a rod from my arsenal to fished what you have listed, I would use either my Zodias 610ML or my Tatula 610M. The neat thing about the Tatula 610M is that the solid tip is only 8 inches long and really only the 1st 4 inches are extra fast and soft. That's encouraging. I would look fo...

Re: NEW! Z2020 Black Limited Edition

I've got an FX-711 X4 that needs a reel. I'm debating between a LIN10 Black Jungle or this new racing stripes Z. I'll mostly pitch with the combo but fire off a long bomb once in a while. Is the Z more of a big swimbait reel with a heavy spool? Nevermind my mind is made up. I want to throw stuff rea...
