Re: Mag3D

My understanding is that Magforce 3D changes the braking profile. Long cast will move the magnet rings away from the inductor and only when centrifugal force extends the inductor into the magnets does any braking occur. It would be like running a short depth inductor on a spool. The opposite is true...

Re: Short BFS rod

Rods with "BFS" have pretty stiff backbones and look like M powered rods from stripper guide to the butt and are often times even more rigid that many M powered rods in the back half of the rod. My L and UL Volkey sure are. Guys will buy BFS sticks thinking that "BFS" just means a casting rod that w...

Re: Short BFS rod

Here's what the taper on the 1.8 m, 2-7 g, version looks like. On Aliexpress they list it as "middle slow". The short 1.25 m is rated 1-5 g and simply listed as "soft". LowRange, I've read conflicting reports on the origins of BFS. At this point I believe most people just accept any baitcasting rod...

Re: Short BFS rod

I got a short 4'7" XUL solid carbon BFS rod I have been using for years. I have caught MANY stream trout, to pike and everything in between. Durable, light and sensitive. I have no issue casting sub 1gr lures and also being able to boat flip big bluegill and small bass with it. It is my favorite ro...

Re: Mag3D

How often do you see bassresource users confused by the SV and regular Tatulas? There are posts about it all the time. They just can't wrap their heads around the idea of different braking profiles for different applications. "well which one is better" is all they want to know as if one replaces the...

Re: Mag3D

Has there ever been a valid reason for Daiwa going away from this system? Answer - average Joe According to Daiwa when I asked them, the rep told me average Joe couldn’t handle it, this is why they went to single brake dial. Average Joe isn't likely going to buy a $300 reel anyway. I certainly don'...

Re: Daiwa 20 HRF TW PE Special

1/4 oz is about max for the leadership isn't it? Why only 100 feet? I can use my leadership to cast way lighter baits way further. I think the heavy spool of the HRF TW PE is the culprit.

They never will. Consider yourself lucky if you even get a distance tuned Steez and not some SV that casts like an Alphas SV.

Trickworms, Swamp Crawlers, Super Flukes, 6"/4" Lizards, I use a lot of Zoom. Trickworms are by far my favorite though, I am on a never ending quest to find the ideal rod/reel/line combo to fish them weightless in emerging pads. I don't know if it exists but I am going to keep trying new tackle unt...

Re: ZPI Reel?

Actually is is a cheap as $58 :laugh1: I actually bought the centrifugal BPS Bionic reel and a lightning rod to fish frogs on a fishing trip when failed to bring a frog rod with me. It seemed like a good real for the $49 I payed for it. I ended up giving it to a buddy to learn baitcast reels on. No ...
