Re: best casting reel for 100 bucks?

Finding A great casting reel for $100 is going to be difficult. I recommend your buddy should up his budget a little bit and maybe shop on eBay or other sites that have discounts. The latest shimano curado would be my choice. I believe they retail for $179 but they can be found on eBay for around $...

Re: Which is your favorite rod company?

I would choose St.Croix, the rods preform well and are bulletproof from the bottom of the line up to the top. They suit my budget and I would imagine most other serious anglers. If it was only one company; I would buy a few workhorse rods a high end contact rod and a high end finess rod. Within budg...

The bass club I'm in is out of Duluth so I'm fishing Duluth area lakes for the first time. We did pretty well, my partner and i had a 5 fish limit of...

best casting reel for 100 bucks?

My bass club buddy only has spinning gear, he asked me for combo advice. He said he could spend around 200. I told him to go 7'mh st.croix for a rod. I have an avid and mojo IMO they are about as versatile as it gets. They take a beating and warranty is also good. I personally haven't been to fond o...

Hey thanks for your opinions guys. I just received a beautiful 68xti diablo from HUNGRYCOW. Thanks again Joe! I wish I knew how to add images. Gotta say I am pretty stoked! My first JDM rod. It's unreal. The darkside is calling.

Re: Contact bait rod $300 Megabass tour versital?

I didn't mean to knock loomis. I thought the rod was very sensitive. Probably more sensitive than my friends compile-x. I just didn't like the way it played. Maybe if I bought an 844c I would of loved it. Thanks guys, almost forgot how useful this forum is!

Re: Contact bait rod $300 Megabass tour versital?

I had that rod for a season and it did the job very well. I was mainly throwing 1/4-1/2oz with a brush hog on it and did a lot of flipping in the trees with it. Awesome rod! You won't be disappointed. Currently, I am using an IROD G2 Fred's Magic Stick. Hey thanks! This helped nudge me fu...

Contact bait rod $300 Megabass tour versital?

Looking for member advice/suggestions on a bottom contact rod between 250 and 300 retail. I might pay 350 for a good deal on the buy sell trade. Looking for something between 6'8" and 7'1". I fish mostly 1/4 to 3/8 ounce jigs and Texas rigs. I think I prefer a rod on the heavier side for those dutie...

I would like to say hello again and ask a couple questions. I was a member of the old forum before it was updated or crashed. I've been targeting musky since and haven't found a ton of use for the forum. This year I joined a bass club and am looking to up my game. I bought a couple rods on the old s...

Steez compile-x 7'1'' H

Does the steez compile-x 7'1'' heavy and steez XT 7'1" heavy share the same rod blank? If not do they fish with similar power and taper? Thank you.
