Skipping: SV, MGL, DC or st else?

Wondering what reel preferences you have for skipping. I've skipped with an SV103 and it worked really well. From what I've read it seems like SV reels are beginner friendly but if mastered is there an advantage to the shimanos? Also has anyone skipped with a DC? Going get another bottom contact rod...

Re: Jig Rod Recomendation

In that case look at the kistler 7'3" H or MH H3. I have a 7' Lt/MH h3 its very crisp. People are pretty high on the sensitivity of the shimano Expride series rods. Both under 300.

Re: Jig Rod Recomendation

I haven't used it but my next jig rod is going to be a 2018 7'3" H zbone, should be dope. 3- zbone 7'3 xfast H----- prior model- this rod is really xfast. Needs FC to fish in shallow water. most sensitive of the three and I rank it last. I mention because performance to me is about more then just fe...

Re: Help choosing NRX

I missed the part where you already ordered, my bad man. Enjoy your new rods, consider the 894 in the future!

Re: Help choosing NRX

A 5/16 bullet weight and a 5/16 ounce piece of plastic put you at the upper limit of a 893, at 5/8oz. Bulky creature baits can be a 1/2oz of plastic alone. I would go 894. I use mine for 3/16-3/8oz Trigs, most often 1/4 and 5/16oz with a craw style creature bait. 3/8oz is pushing it for me.

Re: MB Orochi xx EMTF for jigs & t-rigs

FMJ is probably more suitable. I used mine for 1/4oz+ bulky Trigs and it worked well. It was pretty much made for 1/2oz jigs

Nice! That silver must look good with the blue. I was thinking of going medium action. The expride 7M looks nice too.

Re: Looking for a rod recommendation (shakey head, weightless worms, jerkbaits)

I have a 7' He3 light/MH it's light, crisp, well balanced and sensitive. I'd say its very good for 3/16- 1/4oz shakey. I have used it for Jerkbaits, I didn't find it to be to long for working the bait and I'm 5'9". The extra length will help cradle fish, less likely to bend out hooks/loose fish. IMO...

Re: What’s your 2019 Rod to have?

I really only need a Kistler H3 dropshot rod and a Ci4 2500. I'll probably get a 73H Zbone because I have a problem ](*,)

Re: Line selection summarized

I would say the characteristics of flourocarbon can fluctuate the most. Better handling flourocarbon lines stretch more, are less sensitive, and have less abrasion resistance than their harder, denser, more difficult to manage counterparts. I like softer flouro like invisx for moving baits and harde...
