Re: LOOKING FOR Below 4oz Bass Casting Rod

I had the 7' MXB and 7'MHF. Neither one was very sensitive, and that was with braid. But on the other hand, both of them were more sensitive than the Steez 7'1" HF Compile-X. That rod was a joke, especially for what it originally cost. I've never used either of those. The Tatula versions are pretty...

Re: LOOKING FOR Below 4oz Bass Casting Rod

Well I have not weighted one but the Shimano SLX is a light rod and lists for $100. St. Croix has the Bass-X at $100 also but for me the Avid is a much better rod at $200 MSRP. I do not know the weights on any of them but if you have not decided by Tuesday I could weight them for you. TFO has some ...

Re: LOOKING FOR Below 4oz Bass Casting Rod

I agree. That would really simplify things. You can try searching the model number of whatever rods you're looking at in the rod weights thread. That won't likely tell you much about balance, though. For a reel that light, you're going to have trouble getting a well balanced setup in that weight/pri...

Re: What to do about chipped paint?

I go around hawking the nail polish racks and discount bins for applicable colours, trying to get exact colours can be difficult but I'd rather a sealed finish than one that will allow corrosion to get under - dont forget the acids off your hands etc... Otherwise go to your local paint shop that do...

https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F352578349436 Didn't see the 7' MXB, but that would also be a great choice at that price. Those Zillions....the sensitivity really underwhelmed me. Just my opinion, your results may vary. Which model? The 661HFB isn't b...

Re: What to do about chipped paint?

Sharpie? Maybe matching nail polish or car/model car touch up paint? Ive used all 3 before. I considered dabbing a tiny drop of matte black enamel spray paint on it using a toothpick or something. I just want to prevent it getting any bigger without damaging the existing finish, chemically or other...

Re: LOOKING FOR Below 4oz Bass Casting Rod

I don't think duckett is even remotely in the same category as majorcraft. Majorcrafts are very impressive for the $, the new ms-1 would fit the bill nicely. The phenix feather is also very nice for the $. Or you could shop around for a used higher $ rod. I got an HM black widow 704 for what price ...

Re: LOOKING FOR Below 4oz Bass Casting Rod

For light texas rigs, senkos, etc? I'll say it for you so you don't have to...Majorcraft MS-X..(insert model here)   Well, both mediums are in that weight range, but classified as regulars. They'll totally work for those techniques, though. The 69M/BF is regular fast and is simply s...

Very regal. I love all these purple custom parts. They exude an air of exclusivity. I've got something awesome coming, too. It will be less regal and more, I don't know, radioactive. Stay tuned, gents.

Re: Ester Line - Help Me Decide

That's cool. You'd be surprised at how much the stretch in a 4' leader can help. Plus you get that added resistance to abrasion. Whatever works for you is all that matters, though. I think if you wind up setting the hook on something bigger than a panfish you might be more likely to break off. Maybe...
