Re: 2019 Daiwa Admira Baitcaster

Hmm! Friend of mine bought KOHGA TW HYPER CUSTOM (Steez A frame with 8,6:1 gears, no casting brake) yesterday. It's completely Steez TW compatible!!! Just change sideplate and spool and you have pink 1016 Steez with 8,8:1 ratio. =D> More wondering, is this Admira same like Steez CT spool + sideplate...

Re: Japan Fishing Show 2020 Predictions

For realz. The Tatula is Daiwa's pollution. Wish they made something like the Bantam. Quality solid little reel that is also made in japan, and not too expensive. Their insane focus on Tats is annoying. Never had a Tat. Will never have a Tat unless there's one that is below 6,5oz and made in japan,...

Re: G Loomis GLX vs Rainshadow ETERNITY / TESTAMENT

I'm looking to get or build a 7'6" medium action casting rod. I've been impressed with the Rainshadow IMMORTAL blanks but have no experience with their top of the line Eternity or Testament blanks. (I think RS replaced their Eternity line with the Testament line). Anyone in the know care to weigh i...

Us guys in the north here sometimes fish in that freezing temps so it's good to have a cork fore grip. :big grin:
Here in Finland we fish all the time at freezing temps and we don't use foregrips. Useless extra weight wrong side of balance point. :)

Re: St. Croix Legend Elite

I have custom 5C70MF-G as well. It's very nice rod for deeper water perch fishing and shallow water zander fishing. I mostly cast jigs with it, but cranks goes well too. Sensitivity is good but best of this blank is it's casting abilities. Very nice and easy to cast with it. One of my favorites. Abs...

Re: Where have all the Full handle Rods Gone

Can you turn a split grip into a full grip? It's possible, but takes some time and work. You need to remove all stuff from butt to reelseat. Blank is much thicker in the end part that near reelseat so you need to ream cork/eva/etc hole quite much and then need to fill gap between blank and cork wit...

Re: Where have all the Full handle Rods Gone

edit: don't get me started on the EVA foam craze either. ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) ](*,) What's wrong with EVA? I admit some are better than others, but for the most part foam grips are light, durable, inexpensive, there's no filler to fall out, it provides a good grip even when it's wet or col...
