Re: 15 Conquest 100HG noisy on cast

Post it on shimano support forum see what responses you get there, I am considering getting one, but if they all nosy like this...
Interesting if there is an option to get a new brake block for QC, like they have on 2016 curado, Met MGL.

Yes, they are both 12lb/85yrd

not exactly, old 50 holds more line, compared directly with 15 lb flouro, about 6-7 yards difference.

Re: Lightest stock 100 size reel spools

core 100 MG MG7 has very light spool, I believe around 10 -11 grams.

Re: NRX Guide replacement?

Roughly, what it would cost me to replace guides on my NRX 843 with Torzites? I don't like the recoils, sound and the way they wrapped. That's not a question with an easy answer. There are a lot of variables. New guide layout? Spiral wrapped? More single foot guides? How much work does the blank re...

Re: NRX Guide replacement?

It depends on the train and styles and sizes how much weight you can get rid of. But I swapped out Recoils on a customer rod for titanium framed SiC's and pulled quite a bit of weight out of the setup. Roughly, what it would cost me to replace guides on my NRX 843 with Torzites? I don't like the re...

Re: MGL spool in saltwater

Been eyeing off the Metanium MGL, but put off by the porting on the sides of the spool. Looks like an invitation for saltwater to migrate to the spool shaft and hence the bearings (esp with some braids that can hold a fair bit of water). Any saltwater users care to comment? Same here, but I was mor...

Re: met mgl drilled spool

Have you thought about using braid backing? I use it on all my reels (40lb). I just put a small strip of electrical tape on the spool, wrap the braid around the spool 3 or 4 times and then tie a uni knot and start spooling it on. I don't put much on, but I think the braid will help protect fluoroca...

met mgl drilled spool

I noticed on regular shimano spools drilled wholes have sharp edges and on the last layer of fishing line ( mono or flouro ) it leaves noticeable marks or even damages the line. It is not a big deal since this layer never really get used , but MGL has even spool's side walls drilled to reduce the to...
