Re: Imakatsu Gekiasa 2 Alive Roller/Foot Magic

Finally got a confirmation email, hopefully I’ll have these by mid week. Gotta say, some of these colors make me  Definitely puts a different spin on orange! https://i.postimg.cc/FzLbkgqw/22454868-7-EB9-491-A-9868-ACDCE8-EA1-FFB.png I honestly have a feeling this pattern would slay the pike. 8...

Re: Imakatsu Gekiasa 2 Alive Roller/Foot Magic

I'll be waiting for your review on these, the float-shimmy looks amazing lol... I’ll definitely post up some thoughts when they get here. That action on the float is different, and is something that I hope will make some followers commit to it. Have lots of baits that wobble/shimmy while they sink,...

Re: Terminal Tackle Help

I usually don’t swap out split rings. Shadow Rap Shads are the only bait I’ve used that really need them, and used the Owners in #2. Most factory rings are pretty solid though. They can help getting that proper suspension if having trouble dialing in hooks though.

Imakatsu Gekiasa 2 Alive Roller/Foot Magic

I know we have a few Imakatsu fans on the board, anyone ever thrown these jerkbaits? Let me know your opinion on these if you have any experience with them. Just ordered a couple Alive Rollers in Green Smelt(hopefully they were really in stock) and was curious on true depth and action when ripped(ho...

Re: Terminal Tackle Help

Nice work getting that fish in on those light hooks! =D> Owner ST-36 seem to be closest size/weight while having more strength compared to most factory hooks, and are sticky sharp. Gamakatsu TGW Nano Finesse are good for Megabass baits that need to be very exact. I carry a pretty good variety during...

Re: keitech 2.8 rigging

Slightly unrelated side note, for the 3.3" Keitech's I use the Owner Bullet Heads, which are 1/0 hooks with weights of 1/16, 1/8, and 3/16. I love them and they are a perfect fit which has accounted for thousands of fish. Problem I noticed yesterday was 2 of them I left sitting in the car (WITHOUT ...

Re: Weight Transfer System Stuck

Here’s what I did to fix these 2. Drilled a 1/32” hole where the ball was stuck, and used a hook to pry it loose. Easy enough. Now I need to figure out what to fill them with. Can’t afford to have any saltwater getting in the baits as they will rust out quickly. I’m thinking a little 5200 would seal...

Re: Abrasion Resistance

If I need abrasion resistance, I use Shooter Flouro for my leaders. Waaaaay tougher than any mono on the market. After getting run through some rocks by a redfish a few times, the 18lb has proved itself to me.

Re: Chronarch MGL interesting story

These Chronarchs don’t have aluminum gears, they have brass. I definitely agree that the new version is more refined than the CI4 was, but man, the CI4s have been bullet proof for me. Still haven’t had to change the original gears in any of them, and they have caught a ton of 15lb+ saltwater fish. H...

Re: Weight Transfer System Stuck

I've had two Megabass Trick Darters go bad. It's not the balls but the cylindrical weight has come free rendering the lure useless. If I could reposition the weight properly a small hole drilled and some super glue would work. Sounds like you are on the right track, a 1/32” drill bit is pretty smal...

Re: Weight Transfer System Stuck

Happens to my 110s quite a bit. C t had to due with the change in temps in the spring and fall. The plastic shrinking and stretching from warm and cold. Ouch, don’t like to hear that! Were you able to get them free? I agree it has to be something to do with the changing temperatures, and difference...

Re: Best combo for a chatterbait?

Same rod I throw spinnerbaits on, 843c, choose your series. I love the Conquest after using NRX for years. Have also thrown on 873 NRX on the rare occasion I need more power. Can’t stand a heavy glass rod for ripping through hydrilla all day, just not needed. When they eat straight off a rip, it’s ...

Re: Medium Light to Medium casting rods. Whats your go to??

842 Conquest or NRX. Conquest is a little more powerful than NRX. Tip isn’t as light on the Conquest, but flexes further down the rod before hitting backbone. I’d say NRX tip is a ML and Conquest tip is a M. Rod ratings definitely show this. Both have that smooth fast action to them and load very ni...
