Re: a day on the water with a Metanium

I almost pulled the trigger on one last week, but this Megabass IS79UC and another Metanium MG7 popped up that took priority ](*,) I will eventually get one though

My experience is usually the opposite though

Except for the IP79. That was hard to sell for me. I ended up breaking even on mine at 250 shipped.

New Megabass IS79 UC

I found a killer deal on this girl from an outlet on eBay. Ran 350 with shipping NIB. I threw on a Steez nose plate as the clear one on the IS79 looked kinda......meh. Deep tuned spool and flat black. I didn't think it was possible to fall in love with a reel :-({|= It pitches 3/8 oz Jigs with ease ...

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's

That 105 looks sexy on that DX. My next Steez will be the 105. Question? I know it's 8 gear something, but are the gears brass or aluminum? I'm trying to justify getting one, but my LTD TN Steez, is fitting the light Swim Jig bill pretty good. An 8 gear burner on a NRX803 might just be calling my na...

Re: Best bottom contact 1/4oz to 3/8oz Jig Rod

I have tried the Champion 733, DX 734 and am now on an NRX 873. I honestly don't think there is a better 3/8 oz Jig rod on the market. I have mine paired with a Megabass IS79 and it feels very well balanced. I have also used a Metanium MG7 and felt pretty good too.

Where can I find extra knob adjustment washers?

I got a bunch with some RCS knobs from Hedgehog, but need more. I've checked all the usual places. Any one have a link or a place to get them? I need about 10-15.

Thanks in advance.

Re: MG7 atop NRX 873CCR

I have that same stick except it's got a D7 on it. Awesome combo. I love it for 3/8-3/4 oz jigs. It's a bad dude! I just picked up a Megabass IS79 Ultimate Competition that I may be trying it on as well. If nothing else, I will throw the MG7 back on it. If I could get a reasonably priced D7 or even...

Re: Reel confusion

I have an Alphas SV105 that I have been using for my Jerkbaits. I run 10# Hybrid on it. I've never felt that I had any issues with line capacity on it. Depending on the size of your jigs and line, it could work as well. For cranking though, the 7 gearing will be a bit much in my opinion.

Re: NRX Help.

. I made a couple hundred pitches in the yard and it feels great. Sensitivity doesn't blow my GLX or DX away, but you can defiantly tell a difference though. ] I've fished mostly FC line using Alum reels on my 894's for the past 9 months. During that period I would have said the rod not as sensitiv...

Re: JDM SS SV

I have had one for a couple seasons. It's a decent reel. The drag is lacking and it feels a little hollow compared to other Daiwas. The better buy is the Alphas SV as long as your not throwing 20lb fluoro or nylon. It's a wonderful reel for $200. Why is the alphas not a good heavy line reel? Are ei...

Re: What is the best bottom contact 1/2oz to 3/4oz jig rod

My latest 3 have been the GLX894 FPR, DX745 and NRX894. Honestly sensitivity wise, I can't tell a difference in the GLX over the DX. The GLX feels better power wise, but my experience level says no difference. I'm currently playing around with the NRX and so far I'm stoked. I can notice a decent inc...

Re: JDM SS SV

Everything I have read on the SS SV's has been good. Tackle Tour did a review on and called it a Steez in disguise. Gave it a pretty good rating too.

I'd be interested to hear comments as well. Its on my "to buy" list.
