Re: Ss sv spool options

I’ve run the zpi M spool in the ss Sv. Right on the ragged edge of blowing up on every full cast with the brakes on max. If I had the wind to my back is was great but a slight shift and I was picking a bird’s nest.

Re: Alphas sv105 vs Alphas ct sv

The ct spool is faster than the sv105, and I also get a touch more distance with the ct as well. The biggest advantage you will notice with the ct over the sv105 is short range pitching and accuracy. The ct startup is so quick that you get ultra flat trajectory on pitches and short range casts. Once...

Re: New 2020 Shimano Metanium

44,100JPY is the same MSRP as the current Met MGL. If the Japanese tackle shops do a similar price markdown as the current ones (selling around 33000 yen) they could be had for just a little over $300 Why would they do that for a reel that literally just came out? The current Met MGL has been out f...

That met is going to be pretty close to 70/aldebaran size. Tiny tiny tiny.

Re: Engetsu BB100PG

The engetsu bb is on the casitas frame. Not a bad reel but not in the same league as the bantam. The regular (non bb model) engetsu 100pg is a curado 70 with micro module 5.8 gears and clicking drag with monster 105mm handle. Very nice reel but a bit heavy for a curado 70 sized reel and only about 5...

Re: 1/64oz Rod Recommendation

Ill put in a recommendation for the new line of majorcraft days rods for what you are after. I have the 6'3" UL super fine solid tip rod and i have casted under a gram accurately. It has a nice backbone and the tip allows tiny baits to be thrown. Its less of a noodle than my UL avid rod and much le...

Re: New(er) Major Craft Days Rod

I have the 6'3" UL SFS spinning rod and the 6'5" UL BFS rod and think they are outstanding for the $. I ended up getting both of them for $280 shipped to my door so for $140 each they are a steal. The spinning rod weighs 85g and id say is very true to spec, the solid tip is wild and a blast to fish....

Wonder how they reduced weight by 15 grams compared to regular CT. Spool is probably around 4 grams lighter, handle/knobs combo don't look lighter.
Spool, a little bit of porting on the frame and the zaion drag star.

Re: Cosugi Works Spool bearing

I agree with Spencer, with those options the ASC spool would be best for UL trout type lures and drops right in to the pixy. With the HH air bfs bearing the ASC spool weighs just under 7.9g but starts up much easier than the cosugi spool when both filled with line.

Re: Shimano BFS rods question

Ratings and reality are two different things. I have rods rated down to 1g and there's no way 1g will load them. I also have a rod rated at 3.5g on the low end but I have no problem casting under 2g.
