Re: Upgrade Steez A 6.3:1 to 8:1?

Steez a and steez sv tw are the same reel. Only differences is frame material, spool, bearings and cosmetics. Double check that but im pretty sure. I havent swapped mine around.9

Re: NEW: Daiwa Tatula 100 (based off Steez)

The handle nut seems so bad to me because even the Tatula CT doesn't have that design. Some of the videos they showed had a black lock plate that looked okay though. This is why I'm forced to wait for the Type R or Zillion version. Maybe I should just own up and get a Steez??? Its clearly a nut cov...

Re: Upgrade Steez A 6.3:1 to 8:1?

That .pdf wont open for me for some reason on plat but if those parts are the main gear and the pinion gear, yes, that is all you need. Also, compare both schematics drag stacks. Make sute each reel uses the same drag washers and key washers. That will make a difference. I am not able to find the r...

Re: NEW: Daiwa Tatula 100 (based off Steez)

The maxed out version of the Tatula CT 100 already exists. It's called the Steez SV TW. I wouldn' t be surprised if we don't see a zillion SV TW update for a while. If we did, it would just be a steez sV TW without the recessed side plate brake dial. Not sure that's worth +/- 200$. If this new tatu...

Re: NEW: Daiwa Tatula 100 (based off Steez)

The IPT listed on Daiwa's website suggests it has a 33mm spool It is VERY close to the Steez A's IPT. I think it is really great they are using the frame from such a higher end reel, BUT... That's about all they are doing. It doesn't get a free floating spool, still has the basic Tatula bearing loc...

Re: T3 not compatible with SV103 Spool?

The SV103 spool has a "cup" piece around the bearing. You'll see it held in /w a retainer clip(same thing that holds the side plate bearing in). Carefully pop that clip out and pull the cup off. Put it on the T3 spool bearing and you'll be good to go. This is the "cup" I'm referr...

Re: Daiwa spool tension problem

IF that's your issue, yes it's fixable if you know what you're doing. You'll need to take the spool apart to repair it. If you aren't comfortable doing that, just send it to The tackle trap or ian shields to repair it. It's a very "easy" fix but it's a bit precise if that makes sense. You ...

Re: Daiwa spool tension problem

Open up the side plate and see if you can rotate the inductor on the spool by hand. If you can, that's your problem. I had this happen on an old TDZ100m spool once. Would do the same thing that's happening to you. No idea how the inductor didn't just come off and get stuck in the magnets on the side...

Re: Daiwa spool tension problem

Check the inductor on your spool. If it's loose or spinning you won't get any spool tension.

Re: ICAST 2018 Rumors

If you watch Zona live Seth is fishing with the new CG reel and when he palms the reel you can barely see the top so I assume it's small size will palm well. That's not the new CG. It's a 50th anniversary OG zillion. Seth still uses some old Daiwas like the coastal OG zillion, 50th anniversary, PX6...

Re: NEW: Daiwa Tatula 100 (based off Steez)

I don't think it's a steez platform but it's probably close. My biggest takeaway with this new tatula is how they failed to RECESS THAT GD BRAKE DIAL AGAIN. Regardless of size, that thing is going to be annoying if it's now completely in your hand as opposed to just touching your finger. Still getti...

Re: ICAST 2018 Rumors

copycat site on youtube claims a new Tatula 100 that is smaller, weighs 6.9oz, has zero adjuster, and different knobs. SV and TW?? Doesn't sound like an SV. Angle on the picture of the reel is hard to tell but it looks a little smaller than the current CT. Price point i think is less than the curad...

Re: Daiwa SV103 or 50th Anniversary opinions

Unless you're nostalgic, get an SV103. There's countless spool options available for them. You can use 34mm spools in the 50th but you need some machined spacers for the gap.
