Re: Anyone used the new Gander GSX Elite?
Thanks Gabriel. Sounds like they may be worth a shot. When might these go on sale, and at what price? I can't see these Rods going on sale by themselves (not with a reel) until June 1rst wich is the deadline for the GSX Tournies and Titaniums (old models) to be liquidated. Who knows right now thoug...

Re: Anyone used the new Gander GSX Elite?
Hogsticker, thanks for the shout out. I haven't fished the rods, there is about 3 feet of ice on the lakes still. I do plan on purchasing one eventually but it isn't a priority as I have bought two fairly high dollar combo's this winter (time to sell off the old). The Envy feels lighter, I think bec...

That reel is just sick.
I can't say if I would actually be able to bring it out on the water but as a display piece it is stunning.

Re: Anyone used the new GSX Elite Baitcaster?
I have only held and given it the old spin and feel it test. I wasn't very impressed, while it was light it just kind of felt "Meh...". I am not a big fan of the current Gander reels in general. It isn't made by Quantum like the old GSX reels and I can't seem to find a source on it yet. I suspect it...

Re: Purchasing of discontinued MB rods.
I love that pickup you have there. I don't think I would be able to drive that one where I live for more than two months out of the year. This is my toy, it's stock for the most part but it gets the job done. 203,000 miles though so it might need to get replaced soon. It's not as spry as it used to ...

You are comparing a classic beauty with a modern tart. A 1973 Big Block Corvette Convertible against a Z06. I think you misspelled "1965 327 Stingray"... The Stingray was my all time dream car. I can remember having a model as a young boy. About 5 years ago I got to sit in one for the first time. I...

The Black Pearl. Stradic FJ Custom Paint.[IMG]http://i640.ph
I friend of mine asked me to paint two of his Stradic FJ 1000's. Having never painted a spinning reel before I just hope it goes well. My biggest concern is prepping and spraying the rotor. Paint will be House Of Kolor Black Pearl Shimmer. And it begins. Second reel is going to be Neon Green. http:/...

How about you completely blow the budget, and pick up a Ryoga or LIN 10 variant? 8.4oz (on the LIN 10/9oz on the Ryoga) 24IPT on full spool, less when cast. Would match a sliver and blue rod. Lots of colorful LIN 10's and Ryoga's look nice. Completely blows budget (your family might have to eat Rame...

Re: Spooling Station
With spinning reels I can see taking them to get spooled. It's easy for the people at a tackle store to do it and honestly I kind of enjoy it when I do it so don't feel bad about showing up with a half dozen reel spools, some places don't charge and some do so I can understand wanting to do it. Taki...

Thanks for the heads up. I will make sure to steer people away from it at all costs.
