Re: Dobyns 2018 Ultra High End Rods

I will try one if they are excellent blanks.

Maybe I will do the trade in program if it works for these high end rods...

Drop shotting with bobber stoppers

I wonder if the bobber stopper would move with a fish on??

Thoughts?
I might try it just to see, maybe tie a over hand knot directly below the bobber stopper.... :-k

I have fished some of the dirtiest waters with these and caught some of the biggest fish.
I'm even catching big catfish in muddy water....

Drop shot hooks +1

What is everyones favorite drop shot hook?

I been using Gamakatsu and Trokar in sizes 2,1 and 1/0

I wanted to give the mustad hooks a try and picked up some size 2 and got a free extreme finesse hook in package.

Re: Crankbait/ChatterBait Rod /w conquest 100

I have my Conquest 101hg on a NRX 843 that I use for chatterbaits and spinnerbaits. it works and looks excellent.

The Megabass Javelin would look sweet....

Mono Vs Fluoro

I've been messing with lines a lot lately, probably to much. Lately I been wondering if a mono leader would be the better option to go with over a fluorocarbon leader. Mono has come a long ways since I was a kid, and the whole visibility of mono vs fluoro is crap IMO, I have done water tests and can...

Re: Light line leader connection

I got the FG down pretty good and can tie if fairly quick, but ever since I been using this 6lb sunline FC its hard to
get a good connection, I use the same 8lb and 10lb sunline FC without any issues.... :-k

Light line leader connection

What are you using for a light line connection.

10lb braid to 6lb flourocarbon?

I been using the FG knot but it seems to be harder to tie and cinch down with these light lines.

Spinning reel question

Is the foot on the shimano 2000 size reel smaller then the foot on a shimano 3000 size reel?

And is the foot smaller on a daiwa 2500 size reel vs the shimano 3000 size?

Thanks for any info.

Re: Dobyns 741

Got the 742 today and I think it will work excellent for ned rigs. I had a extra Shimano stradic FJ 3000 laying around so for now that is what I will use, this shimano is a little heavier then what I'm used to (Vanquish-Exsence) but actually balances the rod pretty damn good. I noticed with the reel...

Re: Flourocarbon leader

I've heard good things about Pline Halo, I've used and still use the Pline TCB8 braid in yellow and its pretty good braid.
The aluminum pliers suck LOL, they broke on me.
