Re: Your favorite rod taper for Jerkbaits

I prefer a fast taper with a softer tip into the backbone of the rod like the Conquest 842, steez rd shallow cover finesse among others. I have a lot of rods with mod fast that work well, but I think the faster tip is less work and shorter pops to get the same action especially when the bite is all...

Re: Shimano Exsence vs Daiwa Certate LT

Gary did you try Exist on Flyssa? Which one balance better Exist or Certate? Adam I chose the Certate for that reason, it does balance the Flyssa better. I put my Daiwa Steez 17 type II (6.2oz) on my Flyssa and it worked fine but the Certate is about perfect. The Flyssa is nice because its not over...

After seeing many pictures, I still am wondering what color it is, any insight?
Its a very dark blue.
Here is a video that might help with the color.

Re: Shimano Exsence vs Daiwa Certate LT

It's here \:D/
Sweet reel, nice and smooth.
I did just order two bearings to add to the spool and spool shaft from hedge hog studio, had to also get
rid of that T-knot and add a Megabass handle knot.

I'm mid way through year round season 2 with one well used spool of SS112 - it's shown no signs of deterioration whatsoever. It still performs like I just spooled it.
How does the X-8 compare in terms of smoothness and casting?

My Certate should be here today :big grin:

I pair Slick 8 with either 8,10,12lb seaguar floro for a leader
I wish they would have had 8lb V2 at my local Cabelas, but I just had to go with 10lb :big grin:

What knot are you using to join you floro leader?

Re: Power Pro Super 8 Slick V2

How is the V2 with a FG knot?

I just got 300 yards of 10lb for 50% off at Cabelas, ended up costing me around $18
