Re: Favorite 15-20lb braid main line for spinning reels?

I use a lot of Sunline Xplasma in 10lb and recently been using YGK Upgrade in 16lb.

Both are very thin for there rating, all my spinning gear gets .006" diameter braid, I don't go off of pound rating.

IMX Pro ice rods

I was going through fish usa website today and ran into a page of GLoomis IMX Pro ice rods.
I've searched everything to see if I can find any details but can not.

https://www.fishusa.com/G.-Loomis-IMX-PRO-Ice-Rod

Is this true and is there any info you can tell us? @Bantam1

Huddleston, just because they been in the swimbait game for a while and that is the bait
that got me started.

Hard choice though, lots of good ones listed....

Yup, the NRX 901 is my favorite spinning rod.

I have mine paired up with a Stella 2500

Re: Sunline Xplasma Asegai

Got the G-soul 16lb, damn this stuff is thin...

I took off the 150 yards of 10lb P-Line tcb8 and added the YGK, it took the whole spool of YGK 16lb 218 yards to fill the
spool.

I really need to add more backing the next time...

Re: Sunline Xplasma Asegai

I have never tried YGK Upgrade x8, what makes it so much better? What YGK pound rating would be the same line Dia in Xplasma 8lb? YGK 16lb? It's much smoother, limper (but not as limp as say J braid x8), seems to almost repel water. 16lb is about the same dia. I ordered some 16lb to try out.

Tried the 8lb for 5 trips, did not like it - way too wiry for me. Doesn't hold a candle to YGK Upgrade x8 imo.

YGK 16lb?

Re: Sunline Xplasma Asegai

Got the 8lb today, its probably the thinnest braid I have used.

It says .006" and I would believe it, when compared to other brands in the same measurements the Xplasma is
a lot thinner.

I will use it for a couple months and if its all good I will then buy 600 yards of the 8lb or 10lb

Re: Reel waterproofing & you.

I don't need waterproof, its a nice feature but if it slows down my retrieve in any way I would pass on it. I have noticed that Shimano reels do have less rubber seals then Daiwa. Its been about 10 years since I dunked a reel. I only fish fresh water, I might think differently if I was fishing salt.

Re: Favorite Hex Rods

From what I have heard from most (except brainwashed kids) is there rods are garbage and the company owner is shady.

Basically if all fishing rod companies went under except Favorite, I would make my own.

With that said I also can't really stand the Googan Squad either....
