Re: High end football jig rod recommendation
@Cal, I prefer cork handles, but the EVA grip on the Orion Black Rose isn't a deal breaker. However, I wanted to ask how does the EVA grip feel on it? Is it spongy or dense? Is it smooth or gritty? etc. How would you describe what it feels like, if you can recall.

High end football jig rod recommendation
Hey guys, I’m looking for a dedicated 3/4oz to 1oz football jig rod. I will be using this rod to cast long distances and drag football jigs in various water depths. Now, I do have a GLX 844C MBR, Dobyns Champion Extreme 745HP, and even a GLX 954 FPR. I find that the 844C and DX 745 are fantastic rod...

Re: St. Croix Avid Series Spinning 7’ Medium VS G. Loomis E6X Spinning Rod 7' Med 842S S
After doing lots of research and digging through many old forum posts, I decided to do something completely radical, and decided to get the Avid 6' 8" MXF Casting rod. I realized that I have a need for a 6' 8" MXF Casting rod because I don't currently have one in my line up. Thanks for steering me a...

St. Croix Avid Series Spinning 7’ Medium VS G. Loomis E6X Spinning Rod 7' Med 842S S
Hi all, First and foremost, I hope everyone is staying safe and secure during these crazy times! Anyways, I’m writing to you because I am having a difficult time deciding which rod to choose between the St. Croix Avid Spinning 7’ Medium Fast and G. Loomis E6X 842S SJR. The rods are both exactly the ...

Is the Senko Still King in 2020?
There’s been much discussion already on if senkos really are the best and if knockoffs actually compare in performance to the original. For the longest time and even still to large degree today, I hold the position that the original senko is the best out of all the other copycat stickbaits. In my op...

Re: 7'6" Spinning Rods
I’m glad this thread popped up. I was also thinking about getting a 7’ 6” spinning rod. Is the Steez AGS better than Conquest 902SJR in your guys’ opinions?

Re: MegaBass Super Orochi XXX F5-68K
@bronzefly aka Gary from TackleTrap, I have been referred to you by several people that you are the foremost authority on Megabass Rods. In fact, it was through one of your posts that I first even found about the MegaBass Super Orochi XXX F5-68K. I don't mean to inconvenience you, but if you would b...

MegaBass Super Orochi XXX F5-68K
Hi guys, I’m thinking about picking up my first MegaBass rod. I want to get a MegaBass Super Orochi XXX F5-68K . I’ve researched the living crap out of it. However, there really isn’t much information about this rod, so I’m going to have to ask the enthusiasts on this board. I have been getting into...

I never understood those reviews because they are most comfortable reels on a rod I’ve ever had.

St. Croix Legend Elite
Hi guys, I really want to thank you last time for the feedback you guys provided me. It really helped with my buying decisions. Unfortunately, the gear monkey is back again, and I can’t shake him off. I’ve read a really good article on TackleTour on the St. Croix Legend Elite 7’ medium power fast ac...

Re: 2019 Z Bone vs. Conquest
Do you fish a lot? I’m out of town but my he3 cork looks better then yours and I’m pleased with my 17 Zbone. I’m traveling now or I would post photos I have not used my HE3. I got that rod last week. It's brand new, but I did apply U40 to it. I've also applied U40 to my Avid or GLX that are in the ...

Re: 2019 Z Bone vs. Conquest
So check this out guys: 1. Here's a pic of the Kistler Helium 3's cork, a rod that retails for $300, compared to a Daiwa DX combo (I bought the combo for $20.. it's a good channel catfish rod lol). Can you believe the cork on the Helium 3 is of the same quality cork as a $10 rod?! It's unacceptable:...

Re: 2019 Z Bone vs. Conquest
I have the 7-6 LE-5 Z-Bone and the CNQ 904. Both are great rods. They are neck and neck as far as sensitivity. With the Z-Bone being on sale, you can't go wrong. Very good information. Thank you, TommyG! Z bone owner Tried one. Not impressed Seems they kept the Z and gave me the bone I prefer the H...
