Re: Megabass Flipping ??

'The Warhammer is the flipping stick in the Destroyer lineup.

Aaah very interesting thank you.

I already have a flipping stick and looking for something heavier for the punching tasks : 3/4oz + jigs and beaver tails.

Thank you

Megabass Flipping ??

Ok so for heavier flipping I was expecting to get a O-xx Flipping special that now replaced by the Aklys. I don't like this rod: handle way too long (18'') and really heavy (weighted handle ... whatever). The Destoyer has no flipping stick (there is a 7'6'' frogging rod). And then I am left with the...

MGX vs ALX

Ok so this winter I purchased 2 Revo MGX with 6.4 ratio for 2 casting rods - topwater/squarebill and spinnerbait/buzzbait.
Should I swap them for ALX or are MGX good enough for casting ?

I might need reels for flipping but then I would get 8.0 MGX.

I am having post purchase remorse

Re: Levante Flippin Special for light punch rod?

Whoa my personal best in Quebec is 8 pounds ... 3 times (footall jig, arrow head spoon, flipping jig) :D

Besides you need to take them out before you realise you just flipped a 20 pds pike \:D/

Any Revos BC update?

Ok so I need to update a few casting reels and I am thinking about getting 4 MGX, but they have been out for a while now (for Abu standards). What do you think should I wait one more year \:D/ ?

Re: Steez Compile-X vs. Poison Adrena for Pitching Stick

Compile-X break very easily. Keep a shipping tube handy.

Mine broke 12" off the tip while swinging a 2lbs bass in the boat.

Ike Rod

Whatever happened with the Abu Garcia Ike cranking rods ? I was expecting an introduction at ICAST.

I am shopping for 2 cranking sticks. Got a Veracity winch 7' M but this is a bit skinny for the med/big crank.

Veritas Gen 2 ?

The Veritas are in liquidation all over. Looks like an updated one might be introduced at the ICAST.

I would like it if they broaden the winch series a bit like 7' MH or a shorter rod for poppers and walkers.

Spinnerait - G3 - Premier or STX ?

I want a new spinnerbait kit for the next season. Which is better for long casting ? Is the IVCB better for pitching short distance ? then I would take the STX.

Re: What is the Least expensive rod that You have

Bass Pro Crankin' Stick 7' MH with a Rick Clunn reel. Paid 30 $ for the rod in 2005 I am about to change the reel for a Revo Winch gen3. I am not a big cranker but it does the job. I did get another one this year.

Veritas Winch

Anybody had the opportunity to tickle with the Veritas winch 7' M. Wondering if the action is strong enough for 3/8 - 1/2 oz crankbait. Don't really want to go to 7'6''.
