Re: Type of breakage

What type of breakage does a clean break as opposed to one with fibers hanging out constitute? Just snapped my Super Red Demon and it almost looks like it was cut - nice and clean. How old is the rod and how much has it been used? Much like glass or acrylic, a score in the material will allow it to...

Re: Savage Line THru

I don't like it and gave my mine to a kid. I had the medium sink version with line comming out of the mouth, it doesn't stay down well at all. I believe the heavy will be better as the line comes out of the top of its head similar to a huddleston. It swims well at higher speeds with a large side to ...

Re: MB Orochi F6-72X4 Destruction

I just got mine and really like it. Have a bunch of MB rods by now from Phase 3, X7, XBJ etc. and this one still feels great and the super low price makes it even better :) Put a J-dream 6.3 on mine with 65 braid and use it for 1/2 - 1+ swimjigs - spinnerbaits - cranks and 6" huddles too. Anyth...

Re: Sunline sx1 for spy baiting

I fish these in high wind coastal areas and never had a wind knot. You need to manually flip your bail and have a sense whether or not the line is retrieved properly - you'll see this when you open the bail in preparation for a cast. I have had a few wind knots back when I used PPSS8 and USDM lines,...

Re: Sunline sx1 for spy baiting

I use PE # 0.6 for spybaits which would be an 8# SX1 as the line has a large diameter to test ratio.. I'd try the 10#. Thin line and the new G-fix from Duo gets you everywhere in the water column :)

Re: Large swimbaits mono lines

Appreciate the replies. Anyone familiar with Defier Armilo from Sunline, any good? Lists as suited for big swimbaits on their JDM site at least. I'm considering picking up a 25# test in that which is 0.405 mm, just fine for a 2020 Ryoga. Should work out very well...a little "high end" for...

Large swimbaits mono lines

Hi

What # mono do you think is safe for casting 4 - 8 ounce swimbaits? I'm giving up on braid and looking for some stretch to avoid snap offs. I was thinking something like #20 test and 0.40 mm diameter. Do you still get the snaps using mono?

Re: Stella FE vs Stella FI

I have the FE2500 and new FI2500 (JDM) that is a much nicer reel than it's predecessor. Firstly it feels much more robust yet very refined and the design is more streamlined. You also notice that it feels better on a rod balance wise. Drag wise they're both incredibly smooth, the FI has louder click...

Re: Megabass I-Slide

I got the Chart Amago and Silver Salmon colors which look amazing. Bait comes with nice hooks but the spring rings seem a little weak - upgraded mine.. Superb.

Both weighed 64 grams which is 6 more than announced.
