Motorguide tour edition 82lb on 12 volt?

Right now i have a minnkota edge 45 lb on my 15 foot alumiium boat for a year now, this trolling motor give me so much trouble during that time that i just want to put it in the garbage. I have look to the motorguide x3, it seem to be good but just to much plastic to my taste so i am now much more i...

Re: wacky hook

The Owner k hook is by far the best i found, i always use a rubber o-ring on all my wacky rigging to give more clearance to the hooks and save baits of course. I use the no 2 for lighter line and the 1/0 for heavier line and i make my own weed guard with 50lb mono. ;)

Re: Matching trailers or not?

I prefer a contrast most of the time for my jig fishing. For exemple a black jig with a blue sapphire trailer are mainstay in my arsenal. A green pumpkin jig with a bull frog colored trailer is an other exemple when i try to match a perch or bluegill. :-k I tend to match a little more when i fish ult...

Re: Mono for crankin

I only crank on p-line cxx, 8lb or 12lb depending of the cover and the deep that i need.In extreme cold water when i need the maximum deep of my crankbait i go on 10lb p-line PF original which is a little bit smaller than the 8lb cxx.I use P-line copolymere for everytthing , i only use braid for Fro...

Re: jerkbait rod under $150

I have fish a st-croix rage rod for 2 season, it was the 6,8" mh fast using it for pitching jig mostly, of course the blank is excellent , i really like the guide, it make the rod very sensative but the the handle shape is not confortable at all and the reel seat felt cheap and slippery.Check out th...

Re: Straight shank hook or EWG for light line?

A buddy I know swears by the Offset Shank O'Shaunessy Bend hooks. Claims the slimmer profile allows for a better hookset without the possibility of the EWG's tendency to flip sideways when bit. Don't know, but he out fishes me with them. ](*,) This is the exact hook I was going to recommend, I use ...
