Re: best casting reel for 100 bucks?
As of a couple weeks ago, at least one ebay seller is accepting "best offers" of $105 for Tatula CTs w/ free shipping.

Re: How long can a bass live out of the water???
There's really no specific answer to this question because of the numerous variables that can influence the fish’s health, like how long the fish fought, water temperature, air temperature, stage of spawn, etc. Then there’s the ever-present threat of stressed-induced delayed mortality that throws ye...

That should be a solid boat. A stadium-style seat is a must-have for me nowadays.

Re: 13 Fishing Reels
I didn't remove much material, just rounded down the sharp edge on the top of the side plate and the back corner. Zero effect to performance of the reel.

Re: 13 Fishing Reels
I echo everything you've said, including the sharp edge on the side plate. I actually used some sand paper to round it off some, which helped a lot.stevenhatchy wrote:The only issue I have with this reel is the fact that there is a sharp edge on the palming side at the top of the reel...

Re: Carbon Fiber Handle breaking?
My friend used to have a bunch of Pinnacles (Optimus models, I think). Those carbon handles would break like twigs. It was kind of unbelievable. I'm assuming they fixed the issue since they're still selling them.

Re: hook keepers
There's a drop shot hook keeper made by Reel Time Designs. Stainless with Tit coating (not sure why needs Tit) but comes with silicone tape or you can wrap semi permanently yourself. Seems best, most low profile for me. http://www.reeltimedesigns.com/DropShotWeightKeeperSystem.html Have you ordered...

Re: Mend-It
haha this is not a bad idea.. how well does this glue hold up though? . If done right it will be as strong as a new bait. The trick is to increase the surface area that is being glued. Here are my steps to perform a successful transplant 1. When removing the appendage from the donor, DO NOT cut the...

FYI, Colgard Sports (http://www.colgardsports.com/product/da ... 0149-1.htm) has a few zillion models from $35-$45 off retail.
Re: Mend-It
But if you have two baits, each missing an appendage you and perform a transplant and make one whole bait!legendaryyaj wrote:I guess it's just me that loses confidence when I lose appendages. Mend-it can't fix that.

Re: What rain gear do you use?
I was on St. Clair yesterday, too. I lasted about 8 hours out there in a kayak - definitely the worst conditions I've ever fished in. I have a nice gortex BPS Pro Qualifier suit and was soaked after about 2 hours. It was a long day... Were you in the yak tourney out of Mitchells Bay? You guys are n...
