Re: I don't use spinning gear at all. Do you?

spinning rods and reels RULE the Niagara River from late November until early April. So many styles of fishing support spinning tackle over bait casting....just not the warm water, warm season angling that is mainly done on this board. Spinning reels are work horses. Casting reels are meant for idea...

Re: Who is the MOST over rated ?

most over rated things in fishing is high gear ratio reels and split grip eva foam rods. Fishing with over 50 combo's for just about every fishing species in fresh water, and I can do so virtually without any split grip rods (aside from NRX) and absolutely not one eva foam junker. (aside from the sh...

Re: Confirmed new Nrx coming out !!

maybe they are spending time testing this one - cause clearly they didn't test the first run of NRX rods.

only 2 out of my 11 casting NRX rods didn't have a reel seat failure.

there isn't a chance in hell they tested the first run of rods.

Re: I don't use spinning gear at all. Do you?

Stella B and my NRX 804 XMR is my favourite outfit....and at last count I own over 50 rod and reel combos. Spinning rods are for fisherman who use their tackle as a tool. You'll find those who customize their reels, or purchase based on reels "colours" and how they match their rod, aren't terribly i...

Re: Reeling Demographics... are you a righty or lefty

most would consider setting the hook, working jerk baits, etc, a little more complex than grabbing handles.

Re: Where have all the Full handle Rods Gone

I’ve always wondered why more companies don’t make both split and full grips available. It’s pretty obvious some people prefer one over the other so why keep limiting them to only one option? same reason Shimano won't release all reels in left handed models. manufacturers do their best to shape and...

Re: Hell of a job Shimano Peterborough

sorry, so the reason shimano wouldn't service my Stella was because it wasn't serviced every year prior? Chris advised they wouldn't service the real due to not being able to "open it up". His words. I said there wasn't anything mechanically wrong with it...drag and gears are fine. Just needs a lube...

Re: Hell of a job Shimano Peterborough

speaking of my combo Stella Blue, many years ago Bantam you mentioned to me a product I could get to put over the reel seat to close the gap on the reel seat on the NRX XMR. The Stella B doesn't lock completely down on the XMR. I use some green painters tape around the reel seat ... and it works. I ...

Re: Hell of a job Shimano Peterborough

by the way, the Stella "B" i'm referring to is the one I bought of you cndbasshunter. On my 804 NRX XMR it is the best outfit I've ever fished. I call it Stella Blue (after my favourite Grateful Dead song). It truly is a remarkable reel. The shape you sold it to me in 2014 was absolutely incredible....

Hell of a job Shimano Peterborough

Just wanted to give a shout out to Chris who performed a fantastic servicing on my two old Curado E's and a Calais with a broken thumb bar release (I know, not a technical term). The Calais was fixed up and turned up. Works perfectly. But my two E7's are working better than when they were purchased....
