Re: New Combo #2 for 2016

Nice setup! If used primarily on 1/4 - 1/2oz baits, I would suggest shedding some weight on the reel. Hard to explain in words, but the weight reduction makes whole set up jump alive. Over here in Singapore with hot weather and peacock bass lurking every corner, the weight reduction makes my fishing...

Re: Pier Plugging reel for Blue Fish and spanish? 4500 vs 35

I would go even lighter than 4500.

you can always use braid with a leader for blues & spanish.

Re: My New Aldebaran 50HG

is there any handle back play in the new Aldebaran? personally, I find there to be a slight handle back play in my Metanium, and I solved that by changing to Hedgehog carbon handle. absolutely no back play since then. I find the tolerances for Shimano's reel handle can be improved upon. I was wonder...

Re: The Search for One : Shimano/Jackall's Biwako Versatile

not awkward at all. if you ever have to take public transport in the city, you would definitely appreciate the shorter length when the handle is disassembled. that said, my rushburn came with some elastic band that has one half of the velcro thing, so you can secure the blank and handle together if ...

Re: Poison Ultima!

Thanks! I guess I will be saving up for an Ultima instead. You said you wouldn't crank with it, but would you throw 1 oz rattle traps and jerkbaits on it? just curious since I occasionally fish a canal system that holds striped bass and those are my primary lures. It's not a big deal though, worst ...

Re: Poison Ultima!

wow. the rod looks really awesome.

can I check with you if the rod is butt joint like the PG Rushburn? Also, is the weight of the rod really ~4oz?

I am thinking of getting the 170M ultima man.

Re: NYC Fishing

I restocked on some of my lures from here: http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/?from=tactour Based on my experiences, Keitech swim impact rubber lures work really well here across many saltwater species. Whats tricky is mating the lure with the right weight due to ever changing currents. This is good for...

Re: NYC Fishing

thanks for the kind words. Did you turn heads when you let the Exsense DC sing? well, there was this passer-by. He came over to congratulate me on my fish. He went on to tell me about his fishing gear - chronachs and some shimano rods. I told him my set up is Shimano too, and he was like, 'No, I've ...

hahaha. wow!

I don't see that in Shimano's catalogues. Are you sure they are genuine? Send them over my way and I'll check for you for free.

Heck, I'll even pay for postage.
