Goldrod,

Where did you find the gunmetal tension cap that clears the drag star? It’s the last piece I need for my own project.
Looks like it came from a Daiwa Aird Red Tune

Thank you very much

Re: New to me rig

I never said how all of my stuff worked together.... In a word, great. It's taken a while to get used to the electric steer troller but now I couldn't imagine fishing without it. The autopilot and spot lock features are great. I need to update the firmware as it's supposed to make it much more preci...

Re: New to me rig

Lol, thanks for the compliments. She was out of commission for a few months while I was trying to source another lower unit after my last one crapped out. The one I have now is an OEM Mercury off a 200 EFI which is much nicer than the last unknown aftermarket one. Now I'm messing around with setup, ...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!

Wasn't planning on a cold water scenario. Had planned the trip a month out and the cards fell as they were. Usually by that time (2 weeks ago), prespawn is on and the bite is a bit better.... Guess this one just got hungry. One of my friends caught a 12 lb blue while we were there as well.

Re: New to me rig

More work done today. Set my alarm for 7:15, as I wanted to get all of me new toys put on and ready for an on the water test tomorrow morning.... More on that later. Had to get the mat cut and stuck before anything else. Here's my template. I found it easiest to fold and crease the line that I would...

Re: New to me rig

Can't believe it's been so long since an update. Well, I'm battling some fuel system issues, but some stuff I ordered a couple weeks ago finally came in. Re: Spool Bearing cleaning question

The only caution I would advise is with the solvents on the plastic components of the mag breaking side of the spool. They'll probably be ok with brief exposure, but I sure wouldn't want to test with an overnight soak. Many of the posts here are sugesting a way to just soak the bearing. Do you actua...

Re: Your Next Reel Purchase?

Found a really clean TD-Z 105H last week that is going to get moved over to my NRX 803. Scooped up 3 rods last weekend as well: 2 gen 1 Cielo jig and worm rods and a Team Daiwa Battler Fencer. Good thing I found a minty TD-Z 103H over this past weekend for one of the Cielo rods, and my TD- Ito will ...

Team Daiwa Battler Fencer

Scooped it up off the auction site for a decent price and I got it today. I still don't know much about it, but I REALLY like this thing. It's only 5'9" and has titanium Sic guides. I knew right away what reel belonged with this stick. I haven't even cleaned it up yet.... Having a hard time putting ...

Re: Team Daiwa Battler rods

Interesting. I guess this one is a JDM rod as it's not US Trail and not included in that pdf link.

Here's a post to the auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/300857132491?ss ... 1497.l2649

Can't wait to get it.
