Re: 7' Medium Heavy + Fast Action blank?

If you cut the butt and keep the handle length the same you shorten the working length so the deflection and measured power are slightly less. Trim butt by 2", so working length is 2" shorter, deflection distance is 2/3" shorter. You can measure the power without cutting by moving the front support ...

I looked at what I think was the first TSFO article and it described RoD but is there a separate article or tutorial on the process?

Re: NFC SB 683 X-Ray and SJ762 HM.

NFC to me does not do a good job describing the action and power of their blanks.

The MHX blank is definitely extra-fast . . .

Re: Advice On Equipment

I've always wanted to build my own rod but I know absolutely nothing. Where do i learn from scratch? Much like triple illusion, one day, my dream is to build a rod of the highest quality but there's much to learn. Take a look at Mud Hole classes, online or in person. The basic rod will not be "the ...

Re: MB663 (IM or HM)

To me RDA measurements are much more useful than CCS. RDA uses 1/3 of the working length for deflection so it accounts for a handle. That gives a better representation of the action measurement vs CCS (If you deflect any blank enough the action angle approaches 90 deg). You can also deflect at diffe...
