Re: Things You Have NEVER Tried
Fly fishing for me. I acquired a fly rod years ago but just haven't brought myself to fishing it. I did try to practice in the backyard though for a bit so does that count? Magnum flutter spoons for me too. I've tried Kastmasters a bunch and have never caught anything on them so didn't try. Ne...

Re: If You Sold all Your Fishing Equipment
I would resume raising and breeding freshwater tropical fish. About 35 years ago there were three things going on in my life. Married with children, fishing, and over 3000 gallons of outdoor freshwater aquariums. There wasn't enough time in the day for those things and my job. Something had to go. ...

Re: Studio Composite rods
I also have a For The Beast rod because I wanted a more portable big bait rod and it is appropriately named. When I first unpacked it it looked like a grouper rod  Have only been able to fish it for a few hours since I got it but really enjoyed it. Definitely a cool rod and need to spend more t...

Re: Jackall Revoltage
Received my 73H the other day as I was looking for a frog rod/pitching stick, and my initial thoughts are that Jackall has created a winner, especially for the price. Feels very nice and light in hand, balances well (about an inch in front of the lock nut with a Met 20), and sensitivity is better th...

Re: Still trying to dial in Met 20 JDM casting settings
Set your cc to just remove side to side, put ALL 4 blocks on (this will not make you less manly), set the dial to 4 and adjust down from there. If you can go down to under 2 on the dial, lock 2 brake blocks up, set your dial to 6, and move down from there. Brian. This is how mine are set up, all br...
Re: ICAST 23
Yeah, doesn't seem to be much hype about it this year. Looks like some Poison Ultimas are coming Stateside though.

Re: Stand Up Backpack
I have an older model Shimano Blackmoon top load backpack that I use for the beach that stands upright. The newer models looks like it might be a little bigger though (holds an extra plano box). I also use this aluminum expandable rod holder/spike I found on amazon to keep my rod/reel from falling o...

Re: Major Craft Days 360
Been keeping an eye out for the 6'10" medium myself but haven't seen it in stock aside from what Barramaniac posted. I asked Digitaka also but no definite answer about when they'll have more. If I find one I'll report back.

Re: Stripping/Rebuilding a rod with a textured blank
Thanks Matt! That is kind of what I was thinking. I have an Nrx+ MBR844 that pretty often has the line getting caught on the hook keeper during a cast. Happens enough I was thinking to have it removed. Then I thought about having it rebuilt to balance it out better since I also find it pretty tip he...
