Re: learning to "finesse"
My suggestion is to really try and feel your sinker or jig head dragging on the bottom. Don't pull it and then let fall to the bottom, but actually feel the weight dragging the bottom. Tungsten sinkers can help and it is much easier to feel a rocky or other hard bottom. Once you get a sense for how...

Re: What's your go to rods?
iROD Air 703 and.... iROD Air 754. :D I can fish basically anything on these 2 rods. 754: Light to medium swim baits (up to 6"), jigs, spinnerbaits, swim jigs, T-Rigs, C-Rigs, frogs, Flippin n pitchin, and there's probably plenty more I can't think of right now. 703: Senkos, LV's, squarbills, lighte...

Re: The ONE that got away...
Oh man I know how it feels to loose a BIG fish... worst feeling ever! ](*,) ](*,) I was at a local lake in Cali about 3 weeks ago and lost one that was 13+lbs. I fought this fish for a solid 5 minutes and saw it jump 2 times completely out of the water both of those times. Right as I went to lip it ...

Re: PUNCH me
try out the picasso or strike king punch weights they might have a smaller hole and a 6th sense punch stop... they seem to be a big bigger than any other I have tried. Plus they fit a lot more snugly on the line and don't slide as easily.

Line: I use 65 or 80lb powerpro punch stops: I use the 6th Sense Hook/s: I either use a Mustad Grip pin hook or the paycheck baits straight shank matching the size of hook to my bait knot/s: depends on the hook, snell and double palomar are my two Weights: I found a liking for the Miller Punch weigh...

Re: Swimbait rod - brand and model?
My choice is the iROD. If I were you I'd go with the Jr. Swim if you were to get one... its a great all around rod and you can throw those weights you mentioned. IMO it is easily one of the best out there. I really like the dobyns too. I'd narrow it down between those two easily over the others ment...

Re: Baits for dirty summer water.
I too fish a lot of muddy water local ponds. My current favorite is the 1/2oz D&M Baits Double Hammer Buzzbait in a black n red color. :D I really like to target the shady areas mid day then in the evening and morning fish it everywhere (mainly right on the bank, like a few feet away at most). I hav...
