Re: Goodbye Gander Mountain

When these kind of things happen, they usually higher a liquidation firm to handle the sale. Whoever they are using is trying to pick up the dummy dollars first.

Any disadvantages to O rings?

I use o rings all of the time for senkos. One guy told me that he doesn't use them because you tongue hook a lot of the fish. I haven't had this experience. Curious as to whether any of you guys don't like to use o rings and why.

Re: 6.3 for Texas rigs?

Unless you need the additional power, I don't see the point of slower speed reels. I just reel slower for low speed lure applications. I even read an article somewhere about how high speed reels are better for deep cranking as it lets you catch up to the fish better on a strike coming towards you. A...

Re: wacky senko

Mark, want to make sure I am getting what you are saying. Without snell, you wouldn't have hooked those fish at all-not that the snell drives the hook into the lower jaw versus the upper jaw.

Re: New Bass Fishing Techniques

Spybaiting. Hasn't worked for me yet but with the suspended fish in my local lakes, it's gotta work. I also need to give the neko rig more of a chance. Looks too good to not work.

Bent guide on NRX

I just got a NRX 873 shipped to me directly from Shimano and the bottom guide was bent out about 5 or 10 degrees. Should I try to gently bend it back or send the rod back? I don't know how durable/flexible this guides are. Thanks.

Newbie question on bearings

Sorry for how basic this question is but I have never upgraded bearings before and I am thinking of doing so. Question is, how difficult is this to do for the spool bearings? I would be doing this for Cores.

Re: A good day of bass fishing, what does it take?

Confucius said that when a man first starts to fish, he tries to catch as many fish as he can. As he matures, he tries to catch the biggest fish he can. When he fully matures, he fishes for the experience. For me, that is what the last post is about. On a more practical note, what defines a good day...

Re: Getting A Frog Ready To Fish

http://blog.wired2fish.com/blog/bid/79073/Making-the-Most-Out-of-Your-Hollow-Bodied-Frog This might be an interesting read. I'm curious to know if anyone has modified their frogs to make them more finesse tackle friendly. With several 1/4 oz frogs on the market now, I'd like to use them on lighter ...

Megabass Reel Primer

I am beginning to see more and more Megabass reels for sale but it has been tough to find meaningful info on the internet. Can someone give me a quick primer on their casting reels or point me to an existing thread? Thanks.

Sebile Vibrato Hooks

I really like these blades but the hooks suck. Bent out on a 3lb smallie in open water. Have any of you guys replaced the hooks and what type/size have you tried? I mostly fish the 3/4 oz.
