Re: Megabass Orochi XX... What’s next for the USDM??

Good to hear about the re-design for more lifting power. The flipping special is a great rod, but left something to be desired ripping pinned fish out. I wonder if the new XX model matches the XX Prototype model I have "F8.5-711XX". If the longer spinning rod is anything like the older XX ...

Re: pros/cons, steez sv tws, us or jdm model?

You'll get more lemons if you buy a jdm reel over a USD reel.Quality control for USD reels is more severe than jdm reels. Most "USD" reels are made in Thailand, Korea, or China. Your higher end offerings are coming from Japan factories. Strangely enough, that same can be said for "JD...

Re: Daiwa T3 value

In 6/10 condition, you might get $60 for the ballistic and $90 for the 1016. It's a shame because I really like my T3mx, but it's definitely a buyer's market on this platform. 90 bucks is funny because the spool is worth 60 by itself For people who dont like the platform it's the only useful part o...

Re: ZPI NRC001-M Spool vs RCS 1012 sv G1?

Teal if you could also compare the new ZPI spools to the RC-002 spool that would be great. I know you have your share of those! I am planning a comparison. I love me some ZPI goodness. On my scale the 001m weighs 7.21g while the 002s pictured weighs 12.44g. The 002s vary slightly imo due ...

No they will not. The air spools are a different diameter, 32mm, vs the stock alphas/sol 33mm.

Re: Any non magnesium td-z/x models?

SV103H or SV103XS reels... Correct. Only thing on the same frame style thats saltwater safe and has a 34mm spool. The gear side plate is different between a Zillion and TD-Z though so they arent exact in hand. Actually, I have swapped a 100M sideplate and OG Zillion sideplate between reels and both...

Re: What's in your reel collection?

41! Wait, what? You have 41 variations of those 5 platforms? 42, I guess... Hadn't thought of it this way but I could fish a different monoblock every day for two weeks before fishing one twice. (14) Megabass Monoblock (6) Megabass Lin10 (11) Daiwa Steez (8) Daiwa TD-Z (3) Shimano Antares HG Good l...

Re: TDZ / TDX is there a better platform

Great for light weight presentations. (1/2 ounces and under). But tdzs lack the power and torque to move big fish from heavy cover. Therefore the new Tatula SV TW might be the best reel for its price ever.....IMO.. They say the Tatula s crank better under a heavy load. I routinely run 1-2oz on my T...
