Re: What's in your reel collection?

41! Wait, what? You have 41 variations of those 5 platforms? 42, I guess... Hadn't thought of it this way but I could fish a different monoblock every day for two weeks before fishing one twice. (14) Megabass Monoblock (6) Megabass Lin10 (11) Daiwa Steez (8) Daiwa TD-Z (3) Shimano Antares HG Good l...

Re: TDZ / TDX is there a better platform

Great for light weight presentations. (1/2 ounces and under). But tdzs lack the power and torque to move big fish from heavy cover. Therefore the new Tatula SV TW might be the best reel for its price ever.....IMO.. They say the Tatula s crank better under a heavy load. I routinely run 1-2oz on my T...

Re: TDZ / TDX is there a better platform

There isn't. I have 37 TD-Z's and keep buying more. Over 30 spool options, lefties have three gear options, so many limited models, etc. I have a few of the flip/pitch models too and they are phenomenal for their intended application. I run a few Alphas, Millionaires, Zondas, IS, Steez, etc in the ...

Re: Trouble getting knobs shimmed correctly

I always shim below the bottom bearing against the handle. You also need to make sure the top bearing is seated all the way. Sometimes they dont press all the way down and the screw will tighten onto the bearing and prevent the knob from spinning. Usually happens with aftermarket knobs.

Re: MB dock rod

I use the diablo for skipping docks and it's not a terrible rod for it. I usually use a 3/8 jig + trailer or a 6" senko on it. It was previously used as my spinnerbait rod. I think it does handle moving baits better as like Gary said, it loads deep, but it works well as a skipping rod too. A bi...
