Re: Which loomis GLX for an all around use of Cranks and oth
I have a GLX MBR 783c and use it all the time. I would say you have the right rod for your application.

Re: Which Tackle?
if you are baitfishing go ahead and get your self an UGLY STIK. cheap and gets the job done. Eventually you will endup with G loomis and other brands to your collection as you get into the darkside.

Luckycraft American shad 78 pointer for shallow runs and 75 bevy for 6-8ft depth. I also like Ghost minnow and citrus shad.

River Anglers?
Are there any river anglers who are serious about there arsenal? I would like to see what others are using on the rivers as their primary setups.
I bass fish a lot for fun but my true love is salmon and steelhead fishing early mornings.

Re: TD ito drag ?
To be honest, it was my fault for abusing my reel with the strong salmon tugging on it with all its might. These reels were meant for bass fishing, not hauling it MONSTERS. I do have to agree with you Zander, Shimano dart drags are quite amazing.

Re: TD ito drag ?
I guess my reel really got a workout cause I went balls out and used it for salmon and steelhead on 6-8lb mono line. My drag got a serious workout when I landed a 27lb Chinook. I guess it was really my fault for abusing that reel on a big salmon. I'm just a bit disappointed because NONE of my Shiman...

Re: TD ito drag ?
I too have had the same issue with my TYPE R+ reel. Drag system is not the greatest with the Team Daiwa according to Jun. I just wish daiwa came up with a better drag system like shimano. Better yet, put the Penn HT drag system in the daiwas. LOL.

Absolutely right CAL. hard to buy just 1 lure when you go shopping for lures. My fetish started with the MEGABASS POPMAX... I can't stop buying those damn things.
