I was curious about the reel seat, if it fishes true to its ratings and the overall quality.

Phenix Feather 7'1 L Casting

Anyone have experience with this particular rod?

Didn't care for the recon models real seat/grip. Is this any better?

Fish lighter than rated?

Re: Getting back into BFS

Decided on the fuego CT with a diy spool.

Leaning toward the Phenix feather 7'1 L as a usdm option

Or the kuying 662L.

Anyone have experience with the L power feather?

They do but the lightest available is the ML. From what they told me, they will not be continuing that series in the US.

Thanks jersey! It's been a while since I've posted but I've been lurking around  Here is my previous bfs rig that I loved everything about except the skinny rod handle. https://i.postimg.cc/5y6ZVxyt/20151122-105021.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/WpHB7JYq/20151122-104949.jpg I had the avail 915 with 1...

Getting back into BFS

It's been a while and that itch is back. I had a curado 51 with an avail 915 spool that paired great with a recon 682. The only gripe I had was the skinny rod handle become uncomfortable after an hour or so of fishing. Since then, I've parted out my gear and invested in another hobby. Well, I'm back...

Re: Your top UL baits

I usually have some new to me bait that may or may not earn a permanent spot in my arsenal but more often than not, I stick with my tried and true. I am however falling for the Rapala ultralight popper. I had a few LM crush it today. Those slider grubs really didn't do it for me. I didn't give up on...

Your top UL baits

It's that time again to sort and restock some baits. I do this every so often to cut back things that don't work for me. Keeps my tackle bag smaller and my wallet bigger. That is until I find the next bait I want to try. But for now these are my top hard and soft baits... Lake fork baby shad - ball ...

Re: Something new for this year ...

Ugh.
The deed has been done and the order placed last night with TW. If I like the results, I try the cheaper VMCs. There ate a few more trebles that may need replacing.

Ordering some singles from TW now.

Has anyone replaced feathered trebles on top waters or jerkbaits for singles?
