Re: Living up to the Hype? The Zero Ball Bearing Concept Z from 13 Fishing

The tolerance of the ID looks off. Is that what is causing the rattling during the cast? http://www.tackletour.com/images18/pic13fishingconceptzreel30.jpg The tolerances of the spool bushings are not exact. There is a bit of wiggle room. Clearly visible to the naked eye. And you can feel it. Same c...

Re: Sustain FI Question

The sustains i've felt for whatever reason weren't as buttery smooth like a nasci or stradic. No clue why. But 3 for 3 weren't like some others. I took apart a brand new 5k the other day and noticed some black residue where the gear touches the pinion. And compared it to a ci4+ that was well worn......

Re: Shimano's Fully Machined BFS Masterpiece

I'm surprised you didn't mention the clicky drag..... I've found it to be a spectacular feature. You can really dial in how much pressure your putting on light line by the feel. The sound isn't all that important but you can feel the detents on the drag as you wind against the drag. Which is an incr...

Re: Merry Christmas 13 fishing. Release date question for the Z

Well one of my subsribers answered my question... Trying to post a pic not sure if it's going to show. Are they all only available in one spool size (deep spool option)? He got one today https://l.facebook.com/l.php?u=https%3A%2F%2Fscontent.fewr1-3.fna.fbcdn.net%2Fv%2Ft34.0-0%2Fp280x280%2F26175759_1...

Is there a confirmed release date for all shops?

Trying to plan out the upcoming months for tear downs. Want to know if i should budget 200 now or later.

Re: Gloomis elite purchase program

My guess...it's an "influencer purchase program" Limited qty's and discounts (don't want to say how much....but if it's the same plan....it's pretty good) Never knew it was called the elite program. Other companies offer similar programs. Discounts usually range from 30 to 70 % off. MSRP o...

Re: Curado K brake dial stuck

If i could attach a damn pic i could have shown what i saw in that vid... But i commented on that vid on YouTube - wonder if he saw that? Yeah I did see that. Good eyes. That dimple is under the reduction gear. That screw did not cause it. Must be the mold. But what was hilarious. There was a hair ...

Re: A Prop Bait Not for Spying but Topwater! The X-Plose Topwater by Megabass

I found it interesting you mention the line will foul on the prop or head hook. I have multiples of every single spybait make and model made up until last year And the megabass flat out is a joke. more than 3/4s of the casts foul no matter what line/ leader combination. Rod action or how you allow i...

Re: ICAST 2017

Always look forward to new Megabass offerings, but also new stuff from daiwa, the Shimano Curado rods, and the Sunline Siglon braids. \:D/ I always like new line. We are overdue a good new fluoro though. I think InvizX and FC Sniper are hard to beat, and I have no idea how long they have been aroun...

Re: Making a Power Play, the Shimano Tranx Baitcaster

I'm shocked you found the tranx to be less refined. I found that even after 1000lbs of fish on it. And both reels serviced and lubed with Krytox. That the Tranx felt as refined as a Metanium...And almost as refined as an antares (close but not quite) I've got both the MET and the TRX and my experie...

Re: Making a Power Play, the Shimano Tranx Baitcaster

No offense taken at all and always appreciate the feedback. Sealed systems are definitely more common on spinning reels, especially those employed in surf environments. For this particular article the focus really was on big bait applications and freshwater, something that I stated throughout the t...
