Re: Looking at the New BG reels

What are you targeting and what are you throwing? The 4000 is a good do all size saltwater sized. They are also coming out with the saltist back bay in a 4k. Which takes the ho hum/ meh saltist...and takes out the fancy bearings and give it a machined aluminum gear upgrade instead of the cast zinc. ...

Re: Steez SV TW castability compared to Tat SV TW

In my experience the Sv TW Steez isn't the best caster. But it reaches it's max distance with ease and that distance is very good. And it does it with baits down to an eighth up to an ounce and a half. As far as over braking? I don't understand what that means. If your bearings are fast, set the bra...

Finish issues on newer Shimano baitcasters

I've been pretty disappointed in the finishes on some recent reels. None more so than a new Aldebaran bfs. The sideplate paint job doesn't seem to be as tough as the frames. WHich really sucks because resale is gonna suffer as a result...and it's not even 6 months old. I have a decade old stella sw ...

Re: Rewarpping a manufatured rod with spiral guides

I've always wondered the reason to spiral wrap a bass rod? I get it for fish that actually pull for a long time under heavy loads. Even deep cranking.... Is it worth it over the extra care needed to not bang guides on the opposite side of the blank? Size of fish doesn't matter, so long as you're us...

Re: Reel Corrosion... Show & corrosion hell...

Dayum.... That's pretty crazy! Did you spend money on em just to make a project out of it? I've always said....go ahead and fish your mg reels in the salt...they won't fall apart and be rendered useless overnight.....it takes a long time! But...once it starts....good luck! Awesome pics And yeah....i...

Re: Scrimless NFC

Those introductory prices are indeed nice. That being said, I'll wait for others to take the 1st plunge. It's all subjective, and while I find that HMs to be really nice blanks, I feel the Point Blank's are on another level. NFC is going to have to wow me in a big way. If I find a blank I want, and...
