Re: Megabass Orochi XXX or Phenix Feather Bass
The Phenix is 6" longer, slower action, and rated a little heavier on the lures, so I don't think you can directly compare them. Based on the specs, the Phenix is a little more versatile. But, if the length and/or lure weight are important, you have two different choices. Paraphrasing a wise man, do...

Re: Megabass Orochi XXX or Phenix Feather Bass
I took the Phenix Feather 7'1' ML out last evening to see how it cast and to test its sensitivity. I put a Shimano Chronarch ci4+ on it spooled with 12lb Gamma mono. I only tried one lure, a 3/16 jig head with a 3" swimbait. Despite the fact that that reel may not be an ideal match to the very light...

Re: New St Croix Legend Elite
I just looked at my EC70MF and it is rated 1/4-5/8 10-17. I bought that rod after reading the review, so it is, hopefully, the current model. Hey, the monkey made me do it. Great review and on sale at TW, how could I say no? However, after looking at the picture at the top of the review, it sure loo...

5 Years on TackleTour
5 years ago today, I was not really fishing for bass and when I did, I used live minnows with my old inexpensive Daiwa fishing spinning rod and reel that I mainly used for trout fishing. I had never heard of Megabass and I bought most of my gear at Walmart and Sports Chalet (RIP) and Sports Authorit...

I think, before anyone can answer your question, they need to know which model of the rods you are considering.

Re: Tackle shops in Japan
I found another fishing tackle dealer in Kochi. This is by far the nicest fishing tackle store I've ever been in. However, it was super super light on baitcasting reels, but it had the worlds supply of high-end spinning reels. I am going back again tomorrow to make sure that I did not just miss the ...

Re: Tackle shops in Japan
Here are two in Kochi. I posted the phone numbers because I have no idea what the addresses are! The first store has a nice selection of Diawa reels. The second store is for the most part, saltwater. Neither store has a very good lure selection. I did buy a set of cork knobs at the first store. They...

Re: Tackle shops in Japan
So far I have made it to the store in Shibuya and one Tackleberry. Nothing in the Tackleberry, but the store in Shibuya has a new Megabass Zonda Hedgehog, right only or it would be mine! They also have new right and left Megabass Zonda 10s. If you are into spinning gear, this place is heaven. More s...

Susquehanna Fishing Tackle
Does anyone know how to contact them? They are not answering the phone at their 800 number or their 717 number (I have been calling since Friday) and they have not responded to an email I sent them last week. I don't do Facebook or Twitter, so I don't have anyother way of contacting them. I thought ...

Re: Tackle shops in Japan
Thanks to the OP for starting this thread. Try this guide http://www.redtackle.com/blog/japan-fishing-tackle-shop/ Thanks for this terrific link. =D> It will be most helpful on my trip. I am going to try and stop at every Tackleberry I see. But, being in full-on tourist mode, it might be a challenge...
