Re: Faulty Drag On Daiwa Tatula SV TWS?

I tried mine out for you. I have 16# sniper and tight drag produced 10-11 pounds with a high that I saw of 11#-7oz. Not smooth at all very clunky release.
Pushing the handle shaft in/ out slight click sound.

Re: Aerosal Spray for Cleaning Bearings

As for using compressed air to force gunk out of a bearing, while it spins at RPMs higher than it will ever see in a reel, while DRY...well let’s just say that’s as bad if not worse than using a harsh solvent. We can agree to disagree. Its OK. Compressed air is a great way clean out bearings safely...

Re: I need a better plastic

QuakenShake no but I looked it up and I laughed cause I never thought of even lookin for a soft plastics glue. Damn it I just ordered some of them and multiple flukes in new colors to me and a pack of some ElaZtech style flukes as well. Thanks for the info! Its not really a glue but a chemical that...

Re: What rod caught you the most fish in 2018?

Quantum Smoke 7' M/F throw Fat Ikas and Paddle tails. By far caught the most fish with that rod cause it is by far my most use rod.

In second place would be St Croix Avid 8' ML/Mod rod.

Re: Aerosal Spray for Cleaning Bearings

You guys cant seriously be trying to talk sense with him, its pointless. The only reason he comes to these forums is to push free advertising for his "warranty shop". I cant believe the TT superiors havent seen through this yet! Cal, how long will it take for ya to realize this ridiculous...

Re: Aerosal Spray for Cleaning Bearings

You absolutely stated you use mineral spirits and that is different from what shimano recommends. So you want to use what you chose on your own time but dont want others to have that choice. Acetone is not banned in my house so its use is my choice a very good choice for the purpose. Shimano did no...

Re: Aerosal Spray for Cleaning Bearings

So it's ok for you to use something different from what is recommended but not others. You are the type that it's your way and ban any other way Gotcha. I'll continue use of acetone and recommend it in every post that has relevance. That's not what I said. I said I have to use what the shop tells u...

Re: Aerosal Spray for Cleaning Bearings

No sir. Not at all. Mineral spirits is my own personal choice for soaking bearings. I use it at home and the shop. And it is not the only product we use for this. We have others... but not acetone. What Shimano recommended in the email was different, and may surprise you, but if you want that info ...

Re: Aerosal Spray for Cleaning Bearings

Shimano also used anti reverse paws at one time on certain reels and recommended not to take them out. But TT enthusiasts did none the less. All the while their sister JDM reel didnt use one. Then they silently(rolling change) stopped using ARP on same reel. Im not surprised by Shimanos response typ...

Re: Aerosal Spray for Cleaning Bearings

none! it already has a carbon drag washer(as has been mentioned already in this thread). one thing you can do to increase the strength of the drag, without sacrificing drag smoothness, is to soak the carbon washer in acetone for a while for clean out all the lube. let it dry, and re-install the was...

Re: Aerosal Spray for Cleaning Bearings

Acetone doesn't destroy all plastics. Acetone is even stored in some plastic containers. My ZPI bearings have been soaked in acetone for 10 hours straight at times the cages aren't effected. They get soaked 2-3 times a year no issues. I am not a lucky person far from it. Its not been luck that my ZP...
