Re: Reel Love

Core50/100. Great apart, but as a 1/2 punch almost everything you'd ever need. My lower 50/200s filled in the financial gaps where they could!

Re: **First go a brisket on the weber**

I have a feeling I may be spilling the BBQ Beans here, but AmazingRibs.com is the TT of the BBQ world. I can honestly say every success I've had on charcoal grills started from this site. You won't hear much about it around the water cooler, because who likes to give up the secrets that had people s...

Re: **First go a brisket on the weber**

I do the same. On a sub 30 inch Weber I successfully pulled off a 15lb Pork Shoulder and a 12lb Brisket at the same time. It can be done! Was about 18hrs cook time for the beef, the pork took about 15, held in a faux cambro until butter.

Re: 13 Fishing Concept Z

It's interesting that with the amount of buzz about the Concept Z, it did not win an ICAST award over the Curado K. You're right, that is interesting. :? I wouldn't read too much into that. Many people believe that these awards are bought and paid for long before the show ever runs, hence the head ...

Re: One rod to crank them all...

So for the guys that have fished both, can you give me a rundown of a 705 vs a 736. I really like the extra length but the 705 appears more popular.

One rod to crank them all...

Leave out heavy cover squarebills and anything over 15ft of water. What's your choice of rod that is going to load, cast, and crank the widest range of baits with the most effectiveness. Looking to replace my last KVD crankin rod, the 7'4" M, which has served me well and always impressed me with the...

Re: Shimano 2017 Icast rumor mill ...

I got to handle and cast the new Curado, and spin the new Sustain. The new Curado is a nice evolution over the I. The breaking system seems more intuitive and reminiscent of how the old E's and the like responded to brake changes. It's my first experience with the new system so forgive me if you kne...

I'll have the chance to handle some new reels tomorrow. I'll check in on my initial thoughts later on.

Re: Shimano 2017 Icast rumor mill ...

Fan club? What are you on about now? Both of us work in the industry (I think). And I can promise you, unless you are sponsored (not prostaff) you'll almost never see the spot deals we see. We live in that world 40+ hours every week. It's not a budget reel, no. But even without knowing price, I will...

I seem to remember a reel in my past with black metal drive gears. CH50mg maybe?

It's not a budget reel, no. But even without knowing price, I will say that this reel is definitely in the wheelhouse for a large demographic on this site 8-)

You guys are gonna be pretty pleased with the new spinning reel I've been made aware of. Pretty badass in theory. We'll have to see the execution.

Re: First look at Megabass Destroyer USA rods

We definitely live in the golden age of tackle. You can likely buy something you love off the rack, and if not, go custom.
I did find a soft spot for the Daemos eventually, like a shorter EMTF.
