Re: Steez A Question

Thanks for all the replies, only bad review I found was a guy from BR (not a member there, read it from google) and he said the stabilizing pin just fell off his Steez A. Sold it for a Metanium MGL saying it felt "much smoother on retrieve" which was odd to me. I just have a deep fear of ...

Re: Steez a tension knob

I thought they had the tension too tight from the factory. I loosened mine after the 1st cast.

Re: 300 size reel with these specs

I have the Lexa 300 CC, because I was looking for pretty much the exact thing you are looking for. I was a little wary of the centrifugal system, but I've used mine about half a dozen times and I have not ever needed to adjust the brakes, to this point. I just use the spool tension knob to adjust f...

I wish they put the titanium finish from the Beast on their other Revos. It looks better and holds up extremely well.

Re: What do you daiwa guys use to bomb lures?

I am interested in this topic as well I noted so far no one's; go to, is the SV103 with zillion G1 1016 or ZPI NRC PG spool. IS the SV103 even tuned not a good candidate covering large bodies of water, bomb casting. Thx Trevor SV103 is just an OG Zillion with a spacer in the frame to accommodate 34...

Re: What do you daiwa guys use to bomb lures?

JDM Zillion TWS 1516. I can throw a 1/2oz crankbait further with that reel than any other I own. The best heavier weight casting reel I have ever owned is the Z2020, but the Zillion 1516 is kind of like a smaller version of that reel. It has the same sensation when you let one rip. Only thing I have...

Defier is my favorite limp mono. If you need something with better abrasion resistance and less stretch, Toray bawo super polyamide plus is better. I use both often and actually prefer the Toray.

Re: Kastking braid

If it's stopping the spool dead on the cast, you need a larger diameter braid. Most folks won't go less than 30, to prevent it from digging.

Daiwa uses a nearly identical polymer bushing in their most expensive spinning reels. Nobody bashes their idea.

I use soapy water on the blank and guides, and mr clean magic eraser on the cork. I try to stay away from any harsh solvents that may deteriorate the adhesive or resins.

Re: Abu Garcia WTF's

My first bass baitcaster was an abu and it was pure trash. I bought a ambassador as a back up to my Calcutta 400 for musky fishing. I would used it 5% of the time casting and for soaking suckers(so letting out 8-12ft of line out the back of the boat and reeling a sucker back). within a couple month...

Expensive items never score as well, because the "price" rating will bring down the average.

Re: 13 fishing concept reels

I had an E and an A. I thought both performed admirably, considering the price point. The A is pretty close to the Curado/Tatula, in terms of overall performance. I ultimately sold mine because I hated the frame. The palming side plate has a fairly sharp edge at the top that dug into my palm too muc...

Re: Abu Garcia WTF's

Revo is a good reel. Call it OEM all day long. Call it a Korea reel all day long. Revo is the Honey Badger of reels. It don't care. If you screw it up, Abu send you a new one. Gen 1, Gen 2, Gen 3, Gen 4. Solid. They send you a new one because it doesn't cost them anything. Its just like 13Fishing a...
