Re: NRX Casting Rod Question
Get the 894, skip the 895. Paired up with the right reel and line, you won't have any trouble presenting those kinds of baits on the 894 and you'll have the power you prefer. It's a GREAT rod! I would think for a 1/8-1/4 the 893 would be the ticket, but I would take Bronzefly advice, he know his st...

Re: Metanium 13 XG Punching
I have 3 Mets, 2 are XG which I use for frogging and pitching. Only had them for a year or two, but so far no issues at all.

Re: Loomis NRX 895 balance
tip heavy has been a problem with all my 89? NRX. The rubber chair caps filled with quarters is what I do, but with the 895 I had to use a cinder block.

Re: shimano metanium xg feedback ?
Was very impressed the very first day I used the met. Have since bought two more. I can't add too much to the positive comments that have already stated the virtues of the reel. I think you will find the benefit of the xg's speed in recovering your line after an explosion on a frog one of it's great...

NRX893 versatility
Other than the obvious, soft plastic and light jigs, what else does the 893 do well?

line diameter and sensitivity?
Is there any correlation between lines diameter(in particular braid) and sensitivity? For instance, if you were fishing a small jig on a NRX 893c, would there be any difference in sensitivity between say 50# braid compares to say 20# braid?

Re: NRX 894 vs. GLX 844 mbr
Both are great but I don't know that one can compare them directly given the cost difference and length difference. See this thread regarding the balance of the 894 and see the comments about balance of the 894 vs. the 895. http://forums.tackletour.com/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=66641 I've fished both ex...

NRX 894 vs. GLX 844 mbr
I've have a tip heavy NRX 895 and a couple GLX 844. I figure by next season I will be in the market for a new rod and as much are I love the 844's and their versatility and balance,I am haunted in what I may be missing in a NRX 894.

I've had a few fish about that size on while fishing Nanofil. The exact weight I'll never know, cause the nanofil broke.

Re: 852s - GLX vs NRX
I have both. The nrx is 3.54 oz. compared to the 4.37oz. glx. Nrx is noticeably more sensitive all be it slightly, the glx more versatile. The nrx is just plain fun to fish.

Re: 13 Metanium xg or hg????
I have both. I never imagine I would appreciate the xg as much as I do. The faster retrieve helps keep the line tight especially when froggin. Pitchin and flippin is faster and I can always discipline myself to reel slower when needed. I'll be purchasing another one soon and may sell the hg to buy a...

Re: Stradic v. Stradic CI4
Pretty much what's been posted FJ heavier but smoother. You buy the Ci4+ because of the light weight.
Re: MBR 844
The action of the NRX graphite is a little different then the GLX. Further the extra 5 inches of the 894 makes it a little different beast. When I am landing a big fish on the 894 the tip absorbs more of the power then same fish on my 844. As a bottom bouncer, the 894 NRX wins hands down in my hand...
