Re: Star drag and tension knob.
I just replaced the rubber O-rings in two of my 70’s and the tension is better than factory new. There’s a ton of resistance now. Before replacement, the knob would slowly loosen after a few minutes causing the spool to want to over run and needed constant readjustment. I’m a happy camper!
Re: SLX MGL
I’ve got a 7.3:1 with 20lb j-braid grand main line with 12lb leader. I fish curado k’s and the older 70’s and these feel just as smooth as a 70. Smooth retrieve and good distance casting. Casts lighter baits really well. The SLX XT, MGL and DC are all so good it’s hard to justify spending the money ...

Re: Missile Baits Quiver
I’ve been using since they came out. They have such a live action on a neko rig. Gp3 and Junebug are my go-to’s.

Re: Bearing number for an SLX drive shaft?
I have tried this on my slx and the BNT4194 does not fit. The cup that holds the bushing is rounded (the bushing is as well), so a bearing will not fit in that space.
Has Shimano changed the design?

Re: Noisy Curado 201HG's
Check the pinion gear bearing. I had 3 Curado I's that all exhibited that same rough, scratchy sound on the retrieve only. Not during free spool or during the cast, only on the retrieve. Once I switched them out, the reels were whisper quiet and smooth again. I tried a new set of gears, new spool be...

Re: SLX 150HG Drive Shaft Bushing to Bearing Replacement
Gotcha. It does appear to have a taper, so maybe a bearing replacement is just not in the cards. Thanks for the reply.

SLX 150HG Drive Shaft Bushing to Bearing Replacement
Bantam,
Do you know if there is a Shimano bearing that will replace the bushing below the drive shaft?
I tried part BNT4194, but it is too tall to fit. It seems like the bushing and slot has a slight taper that keeps the bearing from fulling seating.
Thanks in advance!

Re: RC Trickster spinnerbait
Question for you guys: I saw a video of Clunn talking about spinnerbaits, and when he talked about the Trickster, he claimed they vibrate so hard that you can expect the frame to snap after a few days of hard use. Seems like a bizarre comment, and one that doesn't inspire confidence. Do you have an...

Re: RC Trickster spinnerbait
Tricksters are the best spinnerbaits bar none. Those blades are awesome. I was pumped to see them on TW the other day!

Re: Tatula felt click and narrow drag adjustability
Though it is lower on the work horse reel price spectrum, I was expecting quite a bit more refinement from this reel. It's a Tatula, how much more refinement were you expecting? I haven't owned a daiwa product in years. With all the brand hype I figured there must be a reason. The reel is long gone...

Re: Tatula felt click and narrow drag adjustability
Figured out the click. Spool tension knob needed a lot more tension. Drag is still not up to my liking, but maybe the carbontex will help deliver a little more adjustment range.
