I had no idea the new Steez had that new pinion design. Is there still a hole in it or is it solid now?

It can be moved, there is a tool inside the box that allows you to adjust it.
It can be moved with the tool. It cannot be adjusted. The dial does nothing to change spool tension.
exactly. pinion shaft is gone now meaning gone are the tension adjustment if that helps some understand.

Re: Daiwa Steez AGS QC

Finding out that an expensive rod has problems always sucks, but hopefully your pains are now over. I have six 2021 USDM Steez rods (The Ned, Finesse Game Special Casting, Universal Light, The One, Moving Bait Versatile & Heavy Cover Special), plus the blue Unicorn Rod, and none of them have had pr...

Has anyone who currently owns one confirmed if the 32mm spool platform they’re using in this the same as the 21 alphas or is it its own 32mm platform that’s incompatible with anything else. Trying to see if i can run my ktf neo in it or not before i pull the trigger
They are not compatible.

Re: 25th Anniversary Kistler Helium LTA

My guess is they probably got split up and got sold. That would make sense I guess.. the mysterious dealings in the world of rod blanks  The mysteries in the world of rod blanks "The Loomis brothers are making them... i heard" "One of Loomis sons running the factory...i heard"

Re: 25th Anniversary Kistler Helium LTA

What i heard is when ATC bought shikari, they took the mandrels to a different factory. But after ATC closed down, no one really knows what happened to them. My guess is they probably got split up and got sold.

Re: All new steez sv tw

Got a chance to use mine for a couple of hours the other day. I have the 7.8 gear ratio jdm version. Here are my quick thoughts It sits inbetween first gen steez sv tw and ct sv tw. It has small palming side and larger gear box like newer shimano/revo/ even psicifun dare i say  so if you like m...

They are Fuji K-Frame Alconite guides.
That's disappointing to hear, could have sworn they were sic, may be because i always thought fuji didn't make lkw frames with alconites. Sorry for the misinfo. I think i would take tatula elite ags over the zillion rod, IMO better values and more "fun"

Re: New Zillion Rods

Was looking at the specs on these today because I found the glass composite ones intriguing and noticed they have alconite guide train? Really??? $300+ rod series with alconite guides? thats sad. I remember the rebellions could be had for $150 and even they had SS/SIC guides I'm sure it's a typo an...

Re: New Zillion Rods

Btw this new zillion rods might be cool and stuff but don't see much that separates them from new tatula elite/ags rods. What's wrong with the new zillion rods? Because they don't slap on what separates this from the new tatula elite/ags rods in the descriptions, that makes it there's no separation...

Re: New Zillion Rods

It seems a lot of companies are hitting an innovation wall with blank material. NRX made a splash 10yrs ago only to add a "+" 10yrs later with little to no improvement to their blanks. Daiwa might be facing similar issues. What's wrong with their blank material? Because they don't slap on toray 40 ...

Shimano is the Michael Jordan of fishing rod styling, and everyone wants to 'be like Mike'. Heck even Sedition copied the Monoque.
They also have realized they cost less for productions and make them look more expensive.
