Re: Shimano Core 101MG Issue?
Thanks for the replies fellas. So weird I've probably owned over 40 Cores, Metaniums, Curados etc and this is a first, I guess I'll take apart and inspect. Does anyone have a short list of parts it could be, I'll just order them all at once and replace them. Not worth the time and shipping fees to t...

Shimano Core 101MG Issue?
Hi all, I was hoping someone may have some insight on an issue I have every once in a while with one of my Shimano Core reels. So every once in a while typically while fishing something such as a jerk bait the spool will just go into free spool. I have never had this issue happen with any of my othe...

Backing for braid on spinning reels?
Hello,
Do you guys recommend using mono backing or electrical tape as a backing when spooling up a spinning reel with braid?
How should I apply the electrical tape if I decide to go this route, and will an arbor knot work when tying braid to the spool directly?
Thanks

Soak with warm water?
Hi Guys, I have heard of many people soaking freshly lined spinning reel spools in warm water prior to using to help limit twisting. Most articles I have read or videos I have watched are typically dealing with mono line. Does anyone use this trick for FC? What are the pro's and can there be any con...

Drop Shot Weight Management?
Guys, Whats the best way or product to manage your drop shot weight when not in use? Sometimes I run leaders that extend past the bottom of my grip which makes it tough to manage from flopping around while driving. Iv'e used the velcro and hair bungees and they work well with a shorter leader. I als...

Drop Shot Weights?
Guys I have heard to use drop shot sinkers that have most of the swivel exposed or big quality swivels to help reduce line twist. I didn't think the sinker had that much to do with twists but I have heard similar views on this multiple times so just was wondering the reason. Can anyone explain why t...

New Shimano CI4+
Hello, I purchased a few of the New Shimano Stradic CI4+ Spinning reels and was wondering ,If I set the wind more to the front by using less washers will it actually help with line twist and management when using straight fluro? I typically fish the great lakes for smallmouth so I was thinking about...

Shimano Stradic CI4+?
Hello, I recently purchased a CI4+ and really do not like the handle much. I am used to Daiwa fuegoA handles which I love. However I am pretty much forced to switch from Daiwa spinning reels to shimano simply because Dawia no longer offer any decent middle of the road reels in that $200-$300 range a...

Line Twist?
Anyone have any good tips on how to line a spinning reel with 100% Fluro for reducing line twist? I use 100% fluro when dropshotting as I do not like drop shotting in rough seas with braid. Problem is I only get about 3 trips form each spool which gets expensive. I have tried swivels but its just to...

Duo Spinbait Hooks?
Anyone know what kind and size of hooks come with the Duo Realis Spinbait 80 & 80 Gfix lures? I am basically trying to figure out if the hooks that come with them are easily available and then if not what hooks would be good replacement without affecting the action of the bait?
Thanks

Re: Best Hair Jigs?
Yeah sorry I should have specified, I am referring to the ledge style hair jigs made with real components. I was actually hoping to get some in the smaller range though like the 4-5" range?

Best Hair Jigs?
Does anyone know where good Hair Jigs (Deer Hair) can be purchased from online? Seems to be mostly synthetic from the major retailers.
